Hopper with Sling S309 Software Version

It did not fix the Timers listing when you select one of the timers, Timer Schedule, and then the cancel button. It still backs completely out of the Timers listing instead of just cancelling the last action performed. This is a problem that showed up with S308.

Nice. I was deleting some programs last night of a certain show that was cancelled, therefore I wasn't going to waste my time. I think I had a total of 4 recordings, and when I deleted #4 the HWS crashed and rebooted. It did have a couple of tuners tied up recording, but I've never seen that happen before.

I am still having trouble with no sound while watching a recording from one of my Hoppers. It was working good all morning then started to act up. If I select a recording from another Hopper the sound works OK. The sound works from a headset that is connected to the composite RCA ports and from a Bluetooth headset. Performed a red button reset to get the sound working again.

Got S309 on my HwSs last night, from what I saw, didn't seem to fix any of the S308 bugs.

My OTA signal strength meter is broken on my HwSs and my Hopper 2000s. Have to go to the channels and press INFO to get the reading.

Do you have any connections to find out the info for S309?

Had same problem again this morning only from one same Hopper. I noticed the sound issue only happens on recordings since the 1am update. All recordings before the update the sound worked as normal. This one Hopper is the only one that the sound goes thru an AV receiver if that has anything to do with it for some reason. I did another reset and all is normal now. Sound works good on all recordings

Sometimes you can start over the recording and it will fix the sound issue. Pretty irritating though, doesn't seem like S309 fixed anything at all!

I have tried that and very rarely that works for me. I also have tried turning the Hopper off, unplug/replug the HDMI cable, and watch a recording from another room with no results. Reset works everytime. It is funny that the sound is OK from a Bluetooth headset and a wireless headphones connected the RCA ports but not out the speakers. Really strange.

Does anyone know if the Dirt folks have said if this sound issue is being worked by the Dish technicians? I think I have read someplace that it is but can't find it. Thanks

Just had my new install Monday with 1 regular Hopper (PTAT enabled), 1 Hopper w/Sling built in (no PTAT enabled) and one Joey. I also have 309 on the Sling and 244 on the other Hopper.

Everything seemed to be OK, Joey can see both DVR's, view recordings, Sling can see other Hopper content, MoCA and broadband all OK, etc... but the Sling DVR fails miserably when trying to play a recording from the other Hopper. I try to pull up either a PTAT event or one that I saved from a PTAT event and the Sling Hopper pulls up some other live PTAT show, in SD and zoomed in. NOT the event I was accessing.

When I try to use the ff, rwd or any of the DVR buttons I get a red "can't do this" icon. Then if I try to use the channel up/down buttons to exit the recording I get a black screen but with audio. I can change channels and the Hopper is tracking the channel change but still no video, only audio. And I've tried the red button to select other tuners (since I do not have PTAT enabled on the Sling I can see three tuners) and get mixed results. Sometimes no picture, sometimes that weird SD feed. A power button restart gets the Sling DVR to go back to <ahem...> 'normal'.

Now, my wife is the picky one and she has had no problem viewing recorded content on the regular Hopper from the Sling box in the afternoon. Believe me, if there were even one hiccup I would hear about it. Seems this problem (may) only happens during the PTAT hours (7-10 PM CST), but I have not had the time to experiment during the day. Like there is some bug where trying to view any of the previously recorded PTAT events on the regular Hopper from the Sling causes the mayhem.

Anyone else with a new Sling Hopper having the same video blackout issues?

Hold onto your wallet. your Dish Hopper fees are going up $11 more on 5/22/2013 unless plans change.

So basically you will pay $14.00 on your 1st hopper and another $14.00 on your second , if you have one. They should just do away with the Dvr fee and say all hoppers come with a $14.00 fee period. Why try to hide the truth in the dvr fee?

I noticed in the View Counters menu at the end of the list remote controls that are paired to the Hopper show battery voltage. Is this something new for S309?
