Does anyone have this problem?
I cannot transfer all recordings to/from the EHD starting with S328.
It is weird that some recordings will go as they always have.
Many others start the transfer and stop with 1 to 5 seconds left requiring a reboot.
I've tried single and plural transfers and various drives.
Once stopped no other transfers will go even on different drives and programs nor can you mount another drive.
Other (>5sec) stoppages are associated with tuners starting etc. during the transfer and do not clog the Hopper.
I can't get stuff off to ask for a replacement but I don't think that will help as this worked before S328.

Other people have reported this. I would give Ray or Zach on Dirt your recover number so they can send it to the engineering guys. I read on some forum that they were investigating this issue.
I would definitely make sure Dirt has your info and passes it along if you are having the problem.
I just tried to transfer a couple of Christmas shows from my EHD and after a few minutes it said there was an error during transfer. Now they are not on my Hopper or EHD. It was the two Prep and Landing shows from ABC. My grandson loved them last year, so I saved them. Guess I need to buy the DVD now.
Right now I can't get my Hopper 2000 or my new HWS to see my EHD.
getting very disappointed with the upgrade process. Yesterday (day 2) the new HWS went crazy. Tried to watch Fox News Cavuto recording. It would then pixelate then switch to a different recording then pause all without any help from me. Then I tried another program, when it came to commercial I hit skip forward at hit #5 it paused and would only advance about 10 seconds at a time, to choppy to watch the show.
The MoCa icon kept switching from green to yellow to red. Don't know what that was all about.

Forgot to mention that the one with heaviest use and thus most problems has a lot of 1/2 and 1 hour series shows.
On its 2TB, very full, are about 1400 shows. What is with the 999 or 1000 limit some like to mention?
Is that a real limit? Might have to mix in some movies to bring down the count on a full drive. If I can! -Ken

I don't know if the 1000 limit on programs is still there. But the symptom is that you could archive programs to the EHD, but they would disappear until you moved some of the others back (or deleted them) again.
I reported problem to DIRT over a week ago. They forwarded it to engineering to investigate.
Still haven't received any update on engineering's investigation into the issue.

Most of the time I don't see 1000 shows as I have it in Folders by Title.
With only about 12 titles and 50 to 200 episodes per title I get to the 1400 episodes.

The symptoms seem to have changed slightly (from my memory of them.)
The EHD list is not locked out and the time remaining when the transfer stops has changed.
It is still in the 1 to 5 second range--one last transfer I guess as the sampling lasts 5 to 6 sec.

I just upgraded from Hopper 2000 to Hopper w/sling. I transfered all my DVR programs to my EHD. The transfer back to the new Hopper did not work. After chatting with tech she indicated that the would not transfer back. I am able to watch the programs directly from the EHD though
I bet it works if they ever get the problem with stopping transfers fixed. I would like that SOON--and not a Dish soon.

Do you mean transfers stopping with a few seconds left? I could only reproduce it with ota sub channels such as 006-02, 006-03 etc. I couldn't get it to hang on Sat 06 or ota 006-00 or 006-01. I tried multiple and only - 02 or higher sub channels. Are you seeing it stall on Sat channel recordings?
I think the message people are seeing with the stalling transfer with 5 seconds left is the 848 pop up. The 855 pop up appears if there is a bad external drive, a faulty USB cable, or a faulty power cable to the USB device. At least that is the reason the 855 pop up should appear.
Weird, I can only get it to happen on -02 or higher. I tried 4 different OTA recordings from 4 different channels -00 and -01 and couldn't get it to happen.
