2014 DISH CES Booth.

A few DAYS! Perhaps next year you should stay at an adjacent hotel.

I doubt that would help much. Having been to Vegas several times, I think reasonable internet speeds are against the law out there. They want you gambling, not surfing the net! ;)

Whats kind of funny is every time they have to add an award to the box they have to hire two union guys to come over and open the box. :)

Super Joe, will be replacement for a 211k? is a great idea for the UI!.

Unlikely. AFAIK so far, the SJ will not work without a Hopper. There is no reason to think the SJ has any software for aiming a Tailgater, X1 or X2, either.

The ViP211Z, the ONLY ViP series STB still in production, will probably be around for a few more years.

Super Joey is a client and must be attached to a Hopper.... It will never replace a 211K

Do we know this is absolutely true, 100%? I'm assuming it is but I have no idea yet. I wonder if these types of Joeys are what will replace all the VIP equipment someday.

I believe it to be true, at least right now. Certain people have said it to be true and I believe that person....

Maybe a single sat tuner Hoppette one day, so all Dish wiring is MOCA? Still leaves the Tailgating option unmet- such option possibly going by the wayside one day anyway.

I'm sure it is true but I imagine there being a standalone receiver that can be compatible with a Hopper available at some point. I'm not sure if they will keep the 211 around for that long.

It has everything needed to be a standalone box, even a hard drive port. Only thing needed is software and we do not know if it has standalone along with client software yet.

It is definetly a client, just like the current Joeys and won't be able to act as a stand alone receiver.

From everything that Vivek stated, and I have watched it twice,I have to agree. The SJ is client only.Dish still needs to have some lower end receivers for certain customers, the 211 fits that bill.
