Can anyone else confirm an issue with Fox2 in HD on Sat129 for the lack of a better term, "flickering".
Its different than pixilation etc as it just blacks out for a split second randomly sorta like if you blink slowly.
Also, its not all the time, seems to come and go...
Happens on all of my boxes but not OTA. Signal strength is good and I even swapped out my LNB to test.

Thanks in advance

Phil

I'm in the DMA above you, but I have a suggestion: Call the station and ask to speak to their engineer, and tell him what you are seeing. It's probably them, and they'll get it fixed. It doesn't take much for the digital signal to act up like this, unlike old-school analog broadcasts.

try sending an email to dishquality at echostar dot com [e-mail address corrected] They have always been able to help me with problems like this. They aren't super fast, but they will trace down even the most minute issues (such as clicking sounds in the rear Dolby Digital audio channels I was having problems with from one of my locals) Send a detailed description of the problem along with times and dates you noticed the problem along with any other info you might feel is necessary.

Before you do this,
Check the channel pix OTA if possible while you are having problems with dish signal. If the problem does not happen OTA then the problem is with Dish. If you have a DVR do a skip back and watch the channel delayed and see if the problem persists. If it does not, the problem may be with the receiver. This has happened to me too. Doing a hard reboot (pulling the plug for 10 seconds) took care of it.

I see it too !!! I managed to pause it right on a black out... took about 5 attempts, the channel logo is gone as well... totally black picture for a couple milliseconds. Only Fox 2 affected, good signal here as well, not your equipment!!!

Be sure sure to e-mail the issue to dishquality at echostar dot com (just checked the address)

They will look into it for you. As I said, be sure to include details.
Good luck!

Same here. Was working fine before we went on vacation. Noticed it on sunday after we got home

Ya Ya, rub it in Claude!

I fired off an email to dishquality. I contacted tech support and got the usual run around, reboot, check signal yada yada yada.

Thanks for they others that have chimed in to confirm.

Phil

I don't think Claude is rubbing anything in here. All he is saying is that it looks fine on DirecTV. That means that the station feed is OK. It does point toward Dish... ;)

Quite the opposite, good to know a different feed is fine! Thanks all.. haven't watched 2 since the issues started .. I'll update after next race.. lol..

Detroit has always been treated like crap from Dish when it comes to locals. This should have been one of the first markets to get locals, yet the only reason why we got locals is because Directv offered them here first.

Then we finally do get HD locals and they put them on 118.7 requiring a Dish1000 plus.

Then locals are offered on eastern are, then back to western arc, and now once again on eastern arc.

Gee Dish, make up your fricken mind. I any other DMA that has been jacked around as much as Detroit when it comes to locals, considering this is the 10th largest market.

The only thing I liked about locals on. 118.7 is that it was a $287 payment for the dish and switch reimbursement. I can't tell you how many burned down abandoned houses I pulled $287 Dishes off of to reuse.

Seems odd as so many here in the "D" are on WA. Do they need the bandwidth that bad to have to replace all of those dishes?

Dish is in the process of changing out the western arc dish. The 61.5 beam is shard with Traverse City and Bay City. It will probably be a while yet since the change affects all three cities.
