Used hopper card?

Hi guys

If I purchase a used dish hopper with no pending bills do I need to get a new card or can I use the original card?

As others have said, purchased Hoppers are rare (but not impossible to find). Before I purchased it, I would contact Dish (either through DIRT here or calling in) to see if that Hopper is indeed a purchased receiver. If it's leased, it can't be put on any other account, the account holder has to turn it back in to Dish. If you call in, have the agent put the receiver ID or smart card number into the search page, to see what account it is tied to. They will (or should) be able to tell you if it is purchased or leased at that point.
