After having the X1 DVR and 2 clients for the past 4 months I couldn't take it anymore and canceled the service. Here are some problems I noticed while using the X1.

My Main DVR was the Pace model PX001ANM with 2 clients both Pace PR150BNM. I'll separate my issues by main and client as they both don't have the same issues.

Client
Guide would freeze on screen, unplug to reboot
Box will freeze on channel and not respond to remote, unplug to reboot
While scrolling through the guide it will randomly reset to the channel you started on
DVR
Audio drops out at least once an hour when set to 5.1
Produces an audible hum, almost sounds like a mini fridge all the time
Both
Assigned favorites list would disappear and then reappear randomly.
No dedicated menu to manage series recording options
Guide does not wrap around from highest to lowest channel
Remote will not turn the box off
Remote does not have an input button
Remote (XR2) transmitter protrudes from the end which leaves it vulnerable to damage when dropped
Good lucking getting a universal remote to work either one, only my Harmony was able to. Other remotes could learn commands but only a couple buttons would actually work.

Good things
Overall the interface looks nice and they were gradually improving things as there were many more issues when i first had it installed. If you mostly used the main dvr it wouldn't be that bad it just seems like the clients don't have the processing power to handle the X1 platform. The voice command app works great. If I had to have Comcast service (and didn't buy a Tivo) I would still want the X1 over their other hardware.

Side note
If I was going to rank picture quality against other providers in South Bend, IN it would be DirecTV, Dish, Comcast, and Uverse last.

Interesting. For me the DVR is the one that locks up and freezes not the clients. I have had it for 3 months, and I am thinking of going back to DirectTV. I agree picture wise DirectTV is the best. Kind of sorry I left them.

I helped switch my folks from Uverse to Comcast last week. They wanted to save money. The community they live in gives them a package deal with Comcast.

So, I made the call for them (they are old and need my assistance)Got them the X1 plus 2 clients.
After all was setup by tech I played with unit for days.
Initial thoughts are very nice menu. Picture was not a sharp as Uverse. I called them and their were some errors on the line
to be repaired or changed out.

Guide is sluggish-regualr scrolling up and down. Using page button up and down appears to be faster then scrolling thank goodness.
When putting in channel you want a sub guide pops up trying to guess what your looking for. I dont care for that.
It wont let you just punch in the channel you want to jump to.

My biggest complaint is that there is no pausing of live tv on the client units.
Big mistake Comcast! Maybe down road there will be a software update.

So far im not too impressed. Uverse is much better than them so far.
Just my take.

Update :
X1 Stopped working. Comcast said they would send a tech this past Saturday.
No call no show 3 times in a row.
Wow, Comcast is simply the worst Ive ever seen... Avoid at all costs!!!

A response to the OP and audio drop outs, it is a known issue with the Pace boxes, especially the Green Ring ones. It takes some complaining but once you get an Arris box the drop outs are gone and so is the lagginess. It took me 3 weeks to get it swapped but was worth it.

Finally X1 is working. However, Comcast charged my folks to swap out?
Insane....I called Comcast and after being switched over to two different CSRs, they
agreed it was just stupid to charge my folks 40 bucks for a non working
Dvr that never worked from get go.

I must say Ive never seen such poor service from a Tv provider
as I have with Comcast.
Thank god I have choices.
Truly the pitts!

Also, X1 is nice-However in no way is it better than the Hopper/sling or Genie HR44
I have both-They totally outclass the X1. Period!

Today is my last day with Comcast. Going back to D*. The X1 hardware is the worst hardware I have ever used. Slow, non-responsive, DD doesn't work on the Pace remote boxes when watching DVR'd programs, can't turn boxes off with the remote, DD doesn't stick when turning on equipment (even when it says DD in the menu), the list goes on.

Good move...X1 is immersive at all.
My Roku box blows it away.
Stay away from Comcast people.

When the CSR tells me I know we are not a very good company
It certainly tells you something.
