211k with EHD

Can a 211k that I own outright have an external HDD added to it so it becomes a DVR? is it a one time $40? any downsides to this?

Chad you are wrong. The hard drive will work on any other 211's that are on your account. It (HDD) will not work on 612/622/722/722k/922 or Hopper DVRs

Which is why I said "dvrs" specifically. It will have to reformat going into a DVr.

I have been using one for several years and it works great.

Another plus is when the EHD is connected, the program guide is extended much longer and with more detail such as first aired date.
