If a person purchases a Wireless Joey and it's access point and owns the equipment rather than leases it, does the person still have a 24 month commitment agreement tacked on when activating the equipment?

I did the same thing you did. Just purchased the equipment and added it to my account without a contract renewal.
 
I have grown to really dislike 2 yr., 3 yr. 5 yr. commitments. They're everywhere, Cell phones, DVR's, Cars.. oh, and Wireless Joey's *GRIN* Stop the madness... LOLOLOL
 
Just a money saving technique that guarantees a price recoup for the company. When done correctly it is supposed to be a win win for both the consumer and customer.
