Need Advanced Operating Manual for GeoSatpro 1200

I bought 3 GeoSatpro 1200s to replace my 3 1100s and am looking for a Advanced Operating Manual.
The references to down load manuals on 1st page and last page of the 1200 owners manual installation guide covers the Micro HD ,but not the 1200.

The 1200 has some new unfamiliar settings like NIT, Toneburst A and it needs a guide to navigate for adding pids etc.

I don't think they ever released one. You could go to Satelliteav.com, and send them a message through their contact page to ask them for sure.

The Glorystar manual really is advanced; as it explains the installation techniques as well as the GeosatPro hdvr1200 receiver menu access and control functions. What else do you need, to use/maintain the installation of your Glorystar unit? Remember, the on-screen display has instructional formatted display of the commands each need to do what you can for each level of the menu system.

There is always a better manual, and it does need to be written words.

I had ordered two more HDVR GeoSatPro 1200s and canceled the order when I discovered that the owners manual installation guide did not cover any steps to use these other two receivers for advanced operation for other satellites, other than GloryStar ,but I could get technical advise for advanced settings from Eugene @ GloryStar for 25.00 over the phone.

My problem is I have ADHD and do not retain a given sentence, but I NEED something in writing to read over and over again, until all the tid bits start coming together.
I even asked for hand written notes on the advanced operation, like their customer service would use to answer the phone questions.

Meanwhile, my first 1200 is resting on GloryStar ,which is great.

First, I would like to apologize for not providing detailed guide in print. Unfortunately, the person responsible for it quit not finishing the project. I will update the guide with hobby functions shortly.

Second, we do not charge $25.00 I have never charged 25.00 for HDVR1200. Because, this is not your fault I didn't provide you with instructions. Also, our advanced support for one year is $19.99 for other products. We have customers that really rely on our help on a daily basis years after they have purchased the equipment and we have the support available for them. We have been helping all clients with all level of complexity at no cost for the last two years.

Alemmoe, here are basic instructions that will help you setup GEOSATpro HDVR1200 in advanced hobbyist mode:

If the receiver has been setup in Glorystar mode, go to Menu > Settings > Factory Setting and do a factory reset.
Once the receiver is in initial startup mode, where it asks Glorystar or Advanced, click right arrow on the remote to select ADVANCED with Red X on it then press OK button.
To select desired satellites, press Menu > Satellite Setup and go through all satellites you want to watch using your motor or if fixed dish, just select the satellite you will use by highlighting it in the list, then pressing OK button. That creates a Red Check Mark on the left side.
After you selected a satellite, press the right arrow key and set the LNBF LO frequency and go to the Motor type and select USALS or DiSeCq 1.2. Then press ok and it will take you to the Motor (Positioner) setup, where for USALS you have to enter your Latitude and Longitude. It is important the settings to be correct.
If you are Using DiSeCq, please use preprogrammed positions in the motor first, then manually move the motor to the desired satellite and store it's position.

Let me know if you any additional advanced help. This is of course as basic as it gets.

I want to give a special Thanks to you for this information on advanced operation setup.
I had trouble finding how to locate and get back to the Settings ,which it normally would do when turning it on for the first time.
I am not finding how to add NEW frequency's, symbol numbers and pids to the GeoSatPro 1200 , that are not on the list of for each satellite, that was loaded on the receiver, like Amc 7 frequency 3760

Dear Alemmoe, You are welcome, sorry for the delay in answer.

To add a single frequency that exists and active, just to to Menu > Installation > SAT/TP Manager > Select Desired Satellite > Right Arrow to the TP list > Yellow button to add or Red button to Edit > Enter Frequency.

To add PID or any manual Add Channels to to Menu > Manual Add Channel > Enter details

Hello,
I read this thread with interest because I called Glorystar and was told that the 1200 cannot access any channels other than the standard GS 70 or so channels.
I have a user I provide tech support to who speaks French. He wants to see TeleCongo, ORTM, and Anacaona. I think they are all on 12060.
I bought a MicroHD for him and ran into the bootloop issue when he tried to do it himself and deleted a satellite he is not aimed at.
Upon reviewing the "Menu > Installation > SAT/TP Manager > Select Desired Satellite > Right Arrow to the TP list > Yellow button to add or Red button to Edit > Enter Frequency."
above, I am wondering if 12060 is already there because some channels like 3ABN Proclaim and Bethel TV are on that TP. I found tele Congo on 12053V 22000.

I don't have the PID info for each channel, but would love to have all channels for selected TP's and then just select the channels the user wants in a favorites list.

I have a new 1200 here and will try using the above directions.

I tried to add a single channel on the 1200. 12060 wasn't a choice of TP, but I did enter it in the line below.
It asked for vpid, and apid, which I entered. When I asked it to save, it asked for a PCR PID. I have no idea where to get that.

Any suggestions?

I'm going to an old dish/receiver location that has not worked in some time in the AM. Going to see if I can make it work.

PCR == VID they are the same number, VID = 102 then PCR = 102

One advanced way to accomplish this is to use a channel list. It allows for USB use and you use a list already scanned with channels you want; and the GeosatPro is linux and file centric control or scanned info typed software, or the list you want that has the channel info already working using another hdvr1200. Only HDVR1200 software, or the channel list from one; works. If a friend or neighbor has one; you can use it to put any missing channels comparitivly. Or use the one you make for everybody else; so that the trade is fairly free.

for instance, i use a 2013 full c band only sat belt scan for technical purposes; and h.264 signals; because it acts like a meter in the hdvr1200 for those channels. If i am aiming a 6 foot dish at one of the satellites; the channel for the az/el point or satellite is easier to find. I have the scan without a motor controller parameters; which need to be programmed if using a vbox, etc. (i used a moto), because i use an older satellite receiver at the shop. The file is attached here; and yours for only a geosatpro hdvr1200 called 33333.zip // you will find all geosatpro hdvr1200 files in the zip; and i have used the file many times to put a more accurate dated (2013) brain into the Geosatpro hdvr1200 (I say, humans programmed it, humans should be able to control it!) mentality.

It is also important to leave all connections alone while the process happens (to move software via usb). And to date you receiver back to pre-update software. If you are on G19; and have updated, it has new PID scan sofware for manual MPEG-2 entry pointed parameters -> VID AID PCR
This happens when older scans of the satellites do not work. They may be missing a channel or channels. The receiver did not pick them up for whatever reason; the manual entry points are programmed with the info, and then the channel does scan into memory. This function of G19 satellite and the HDVR1200 with auto-update on; works so well. A channel list is scanned information...

However; customizing the list to just a few channels is easier by just scanning the PID manually since you are not adding or wanting of any others

DO NOT USE LIST FOR g19 or KU band, IT HAS NONE! C BAND ONLY LIST with channels scanned. .zip (unzip before use) for Geosatpro hdvr1200 ONLY

Blind scan in the advanced setup menu is also a tool for this satellite; but no glorystar list is programmed. You then make up a list by using skip/fav channel listing; done for you when setup in glorystar/satav form.

The best way to scan the Transponder is to go Menu > Satellite Scan > select Transponder frequency > change scan type to One TP > Green button.

The old 2 satellite setup I went to this am was out of alignment, etc. I just changed to a single lnb with a new one from Glorystar. Good result.

About the finding of non Glorystar channels, I can scan a specific TP fine or even scan the entire satellite. Then, I can select what I want and put it in a favorites list fine.
The rub comes when I try to find a channel that I think is no longer active. It is listed in Lingsat as being on 12060. 12060 is not in the tp options in the scan menus on the 1200.
I can do a single TP and type in the numbers, 12060 and get sl and sq good. It would be nice for these search an setup screens had all the accurate TP frequencies.

Tele Anacaona is the channel my friend wants. It is a Hatian French speaking channel.

As per Catamount's suggestion above, I get a channel that I don't think is French. I'll look in the FTA forum.

Not much else I can do here. I am now more capable of searching G19 with this receiver.

Thanks to richyrich for his description of cband use for the 1200. I have no application for that.
The use of usb to transfer operational data between receivers is a great function I've never used, but would if it would help in what I'm doing.

Tele Anacaona is on and off channel. I know the operator, they are just doing the best they can. So even if they are not on now, in a few months they will be back, because they want to continue growing Haitian presence.

We are really looking forward to 3ABN French, since they launched and running it in Europe, hopefully they will bring it here.

It is the only way to keep your fav lists and audio settings as a copy too. Like setting a restore point for your computer; or backing up files you have on a hard drive. The usb2 plug can even format drives you want to use to have recorded programs to refer to.

I use my little flash drives alot with the 1200 recvr. for the pvr too. They allow me to control what the receiver is doing at any one time. I make up lists for people; as time goes the people give their lists; or have the list they use; to make their tv better. That is a customization; like having a camper mirror for the pickup.

The auto-update is this function (data for receiver) over the G19 satellite; and when it does put new data into the hdvr1200, you are assured by Glorystar that it is needed and works already. This is a greater thing also; as it is a powerful tool for them to use to help their system work better. This auto-update part of their receiver's is very high tech. It works in advanced mode also; and when you have the G19 satellite scanned, it does update via satellite, no phone or internet required. This is a great achievement of Glorystar, and will always be used for exactly what you are talking about. Adding channels!

Channels, on G19 have been coming and going for years now. Since the number of FTA channels hit 200+ via G19; the churn of channels has been non-stop; so goes the day of a satellite channels life. Only the viewers of them have anything said; as the programming and requirements to be in the Broadcast Industry here in the US are the easiest to Broadcast in. Because the audience is religion; and multi-denominational, here is G19 with every channel. And putting the hdvr1200 receiver in non-glorystar mode (advanced) is required to see the rest of G19. A channel list allows you to this readily; and you can clone and make up the list you want to show on your receiver; they just must be scanned channels on any hdvr1200 anywhere (like at glorystar)!

Using usb2 ports is dangerous if not used correctly; this means that if you plug something into your machine, not to touch the plug again until all data has been written to/from your usb2 flash or hard drive. Unplugging it requires care that the usb2 port was not being used when you do. Otherwise, this port, plug; will/can/has/will again have the chance to break a hard drive or thumb drive. Care in data management does allow anybody to keep this "files" and handling it (the data) requires care and a step by step approach, as you know it is yours to use to perform the duty; just for a certain channel, or operational flash re-write, the hdvr1200 dvb-s2 receiver/media box has many uses for its usb2 port. And it requires multiple type usb2 devices; like hard drives and flash memory sticks. So, use of the usb2 port is needed when using the hdvr1200 from glorystar when recording or "tivo-ing".

Two receiver "cloning" - making the 2nd receiver have the same everything just like the first (i use usb2 flash drive; and put it onto the second receiver of the same exact type and brand) Glorystar GeosatPro hdvr1200 ONLY.

Advanced modes: update 2 - after last update; if you update; you get advanced scan modal; pcr/vid/aid function is now available in menu system after selecting Glorystar mode? or advanced mode? just sold the last 1200 i had...
1200 is updateable; or may have updated since. The original did not have advanced scan, it had a blind scan for multi-codec scan and hyde (which shows with i button a number of touches button).

( i ) button = 3x displays and shows the channels information in the existing channel list; no cam/cas shows either in advanced or glorystar mode; as this info is hidden in it's update and fta mode of SATAV. This info is in other scanned channels other than G19 also; and has no allowance for real pay tv channels at this time; although this great h.264 receiver is serial number and registered; and even identify a pid update channel of any species (android styled) it is only a very advanced receiver and registered to G19 only.

channel listing using GStar and secondary dish of sw/lnbf type adding ->
is the matched SWITCH/LNBf/satellite name (has all 3) setting; in hdvr1200

The next STB will have a manual first; I am sure. The advanced mode or any other receiver; is any other compared yo hdvr1200. The number of dishes you hook up to it is your home and tv's own design; but only new equipment; or better designs; are allowed today (all new one's) with these newer receiver types; it will cost a little more; but the number of channels keep adding the ones I want; so I add them (like qvc on g19).
