So who signs Ray Rice??

I think Denver is the obvious choice at this point. But, I'm not sure if any team would be willing to sign him to a multi year contract at this point, considering his last full season and I'm not sure if Rice will sign for the remainder of this season. Should be interesting though.

I'm thinking that No one will sign him this year, possibly in the off season, as for who, theres a lot of teams that could use him, but can they handle the pub that will go with it.

Since his contract wasn't terminated until after the commish suspended him a second time for the same offence and that second suspension was now thrown out I think you'll find the player's union going after the Ravens. They've already announced they're going after back pay from when the second suspension was implemented. The ex-Federal judge ruled that he did not mislead either the Ravens or the NFL therefore there was no basis for the second suspension. Since the contract termination was based on that second suspension the Ravens may have a difficult time continuing to justify that termination, especially if it goes to court (wrongful termination). Don't be surprised if he ends up back in a Ravens uniform. His wife has made a pretty compelling case for him so I'm not sure there would be all that much backlash.

I heard that earlier that the Raven would probably like him back ....

He's still a good runner and only 28 I think, so he's not over the hill by any strech.

Sign him to a 2-3 year contract, once he's over 30, you can send him packing like they do most RB's over 30.

He can be released for any reason, I don't see this going anywhere. Same with his lost sponsorships.

If the Ravens want to re-sign him they are welcome to.

Can't paint all situations with a broad brush, it depends on how the contract is structured. I believe he had guaranteed money written into that contract. Since the Ravens used the second suspension as a reason to terminate and that has, for all intents and purposes, been ruled illegal there most certainly is a legal basis to go after backpay.

Yea. Not everybody has video..ray will lose in court

The video is a moot point since the judge ruled that the Ravens and the NFL had the full and complete story when he was suspended the first time for 2 games and the video provided no new information which is why she threw out the second suspension.

By releasing him the Ravens lost the right to try and recoup guaranteed money. They didn't use the suspension for anything, they simply terminated the contract. There's no 'with cause', etc like with a coaching contract in the NFL or a regular employment situation.

Are you making this all up or actually seeing this suggested by any nfl journalist somewhere?

not in the real world

not in the real world
real world means nothing, it's the legal world that matters. And in the legal world, a judge has ruled that the termination was wrongful. Rice will get his back pay for the entire year, and become a free agent due to how the Ravens handled things.

The video showed nothing more than Rice had already admitted, and is why the judge ruled against the NFL, and will do so against Baltimore as well.
