A separator won't work to feed both tuners without a DishPro Plus switch at the head end. I see a DPP44 in your future. Or maybe the cheaper DPP33 if you can find one for the 2 dual-tuner receivers. What switches are you running now? DP34's? I ran happily for years with a DP34 cascaded to a DPP33.

The house's with the VIP612's have DPP44's

If you have more then 3 receivers, you will need an extra switch(DPP44 or 34, 33 etc). If you have 3 receivers, even duo's, the switch built into the LNB should be fine. How I have always understood it is for every 2 tuners, is one port on the LNB, of a DPP LNB, and the DPP LNB has the switch built in.

That's why those are working properly. When you use a dp lnb with a dual tuner receiver, each satellite input needs its own feed from the lnb. If you could run off a 44 or 33 switch with your current setup, the receivers would work like they should.
