Here & Now
Its been awhile since I've been on the forum, so if this topic has been discussed elsewhere please send me in the right direction.

This past weekend I attempted to stream The Masters on my tablet using the "dish anywhere" app. I was unable to do so because I don't have a Hopper or DVR receiver. I could not stream the program from Dish's main site because android doesn't support Adobe Flash Player. Is there a way around this? Shouldn't I be able to access "dish anywhere" anywhere (as advertised)? I have no problem streaming programs on my Windows based computer.

Don't think it matters if he had the app. You mysh have a 722 series or Hopper 2K with a sling adapter or an HWS to sling the signal to any device. The op saud he has neither so he can't use DA.

He specifically said he wasn't slinging, he was watching the content from the DIsh site.

2 different answers. Only 1 can be right. Darren and I say that you must have a sling(internal or external) dvr. JSheridam, I did read the OP's post. He was trying to use DA. He DOES NOT have a dvr. Therefore DA will no work. What he should have done is access CBS Sports on the net and watched the Master there.

But DA works when using the main site and a Windows based operating system. To truly be "dish anywhere" I should not need a "hopper" or DVR to stream a network program. When I go to the main DA site I can access networks on the mobile site that isn't an option. And the network I wanted to watch was first ESPN. and then CBS.

You would need to use the DA app if you were using a mobile device. There are some networks that you can stream live via the DISH Anywhere site (http://www.dishanywhere.com/ondemand/networks/live), but ESPN and CBS are not available to stream live via DISH Anywhere unless you have a Sling Adapter or a receiver that has Sling, regardless of if you are using the app or the website.

OK, so it's Some Dish Anywhere, or Most Dish Anywhere. It works fine at home with my HWS, I have not had a chance to try it on the road. I should be able to log on the DA site with the app on a reasonably fast WiFi connection on my IPad, right?

Just remember also, you can use Dish Anywhere for the on demand without a sling adapter(or sling read receiver). The DVR and live programming, however, as mentioned would need it. Can try "WatchESPN" if it was on ESPN.

Yes, I use my iPad on Sprint's LTE connection all the time and have no issues viewing my live TV.

Apparently some people don't realize that you don't need a sling to use Dish Anywhere.

I just bragged in the Operations section yesterday that I don't have anybody on my Ignore list. I think that is about to change. ;)

In the original post the OP stated he was able to watch the content he wanted to watch on his Windows computer but was not able to watch on his Android device because the Android browser doesn't support Flash. That's why I suggested he use the Android app. Sounds pretty simple doesn't it?

I wasn't aware that you can watch live network TV and ESPN via the Dish Anywhere without a sling device. That is pretty cool.
