BALTIMORE, MD) – Ring of Honor (“ROH”) is proud to announce that beginning December 2nd, ROH will air its weekly television program nationally on the COMET television channel. Fans will be able to #WatchROH every Wednesday night at midnight for the latest Ring of Honor action.

“Ring of Honor has been enjoying tremendous growth and expansion across the broadcast space, including new local TV deals in strategic markets, and even internationally with L'Equipe 21 in France,” said Ring of Honor COO, Joe Koff. “As we continue to push for greater domestic and international distribution, Ring of Honor truly showcases itself as world-class wrestling. Having Ring of Honor on COMET, in addition to the availability in Sinclair markets and independent agreements, means fans across the United States can continue to enjoy ROH television weekly.”

Ring of Honor’s weekly episodes recently enjoyed great success on Destination America, peaking at 227,000 viewers on a single television airing. ROH’s 26-week deal signed in May 2015 with Destination America is set to expire, which will see ROH’s final episode air on the channel on November 25th, 2015.

For the folks who are wondering why it will be on there

Sinclair owns Ring of Honor Wreslting
Sinclair owns Comet TV
There are areas where there is Comet TV and no Sinclair station

so it makes sense

And Syfy used to carry WWE, so there's apparently a precedent.

but that is a cable channel. I 'm pretty sure the reason its going on Comet is there are 18 affiliates right now that do not have a Sinclair station in the DMA (including NY, LA, Chicago, San Fran, Boston and Denver) so this will help expand their footprint

Hum would like to see a classic wrestling subchannel in the future.....
pretty hard to when Vince (McMahon) owns most of the tape libraries of other "bigger" (defunct) promotions.
Although it would be cool I don't see how one would survive on some no name (or lesser known) Independent promotions

He owns most of the biggest regional promotion tapes like Mid-South, Portland, Florida, Mid-Atlantic, St. Louis/KC.

Ok, again, I asked this in another thread, COMET is supposed to be sci fi. I know wrestling fans are excited, and how much Stargate and Solarbabies can they show? But wrestling and sci fi are NOT even in the same class. Twilight Zone, Star Trek, that's sci fi. So far, I am VERY disappointed with COMET and their lineup. I know the above mentioned shows are on other stations, but there surely, honestly has got to be other, true sci fi programming for them to show. If not, why label it a sci fi oriented channel?

Ok, so either make it a "true" sci fi channel or general entertainment channel. You can't have it both ways. Like I said, their programming is very limited thus far, probably because they are new. I get that. But hell, even sci fy channel on cable has a lot of more true sci fi programming. Just saying. If I had cable and got to choose, I would choose sci fy for my science fiction programming. Much more and better to choose from. Remember, most people still have cable or satellite and I can guarantee you if they had to choose or rate the 2 channels based on sci fi programming, the cable channel would win hands down due to the abundance of much better programming. There is a channel here locally that has nothing to do with sci fi programming but shows Haven. Its a sci fi show. The channel is also a general entertainment channel with wrestling on it. You want a wrestling channel, then people should push for one, vintage or not, as in a earlier post. But to be considered a sci fi channel and show wrestling is just for ratings and money. After all, isn't money the bottom line? You know the saying....money talks and.B.S. walks. That's why Sinclair is doing this.

sure you can. Take a look at most of the networks out there. Hell lets even go with the subs...shall we?
H&I is suppose to be about crime shows.....yet they have news on it (Touchvision)
ThisTV is suppose to be about movies. Yet they have episodes of the Addams Family
GetTV is about movies. Yet they have the Merv Griffin and Judy Garland show on it

so you are comparing a cable channel that has been around since 1992 and owned by NBC to a station that has been on the air 2 weeks?

nobody is putting a gun to your head to watch it. If you don't like it, then don't watch it. Simple as that. There are some subs that I don't turn on because the programming doesn't draw me in.

There is a channel here locally that has nothing to do with sci fi programming but shows Haven. Its a sci fi show. The channel is also a general entertainment channel with wrestling on it.
Haven is syndicated. We have it here too in Minneapolis. Hell we have TWO wrestling shows on local TV (both ironically on CW23 a Sinclair station).

You want a wrestling channel, then people should push for one, vintage or not, as in a earlier post.
get a roku. There are a few channels on there that have it.

But to be considered a sci fi channel and show wrestling is just for ratings and money. After all, isn't money the bottom line? You know the saying....money talks and.B.S. walks. That's why Sinclair is doing this.
Sinclair is doing this for EXPOSURE. What part of that can't you figure out? Did you not read what I posted earlier about the markets they are gaining by doing this?
NEW YORK
LOS ANGELES
CHICAGO
DENVER
SAN FRANCISCO
BOSTON
PHILLY
HOUSTON

all will gain access to it. Also remember this....Comet right now has SIX HOURS of paid programming daily. So they'll probably remove one hour of that one day a week and put on ROH in its place.

Again if you don't like a channel, just don't watch it. After all the channel is FREE!!!!

Yeah, I used to have no problem picking up WTTK and would occasionally pick up WTTV, but lately WTTK's been difficult.
I hope to get my antenna mounted outdoors before the weather gets too bad - we'll see.

I'm just bummed that it's going to be on WTTK or WTTV in Indianapolis, both channels that have been notoriously difficult to pick up with my antenna.

WTF!

They really ARE duplicating SYFY channel! The channel isn't even a month old, and it's already going down the hole...

Well of course its about money and exposure!
Why wouldn't Sinclair want to get THEIR wrestling property to more eyeballs??? I'd hate ot see how some of you would run a business.

Funny how nobody bitched when COmet is putting SIX HOURS of paid programs on the station DAILY....but oh god no...we can't have one hour of WRESTLING on it. Thats just wrong!!
