We have a Free Preview of the National Geographic channel, Thu 04/14/16 Tue 05/10/16. This is one of the perks of being a DISH customer we provide you with FREE channel previews.
I liked it better when Dish provided subs with hookers and booze.
The Dish website says that National Geographic channel is now permanently in the Smart Pack.
That is deceiving the way Dish is listing this on their website and in the channel listings.
No, if you look closer (https://www.mydish.com/upgrades/english-packages/smart-pack or https://www.mydish.com/upgrades/english-packages/welcome-pack), Dish has decided to dynamically include whatever channels are in free preview mode at the time that someone looks at those pages. At least they didn't put
Channels in Free Preview can be found here and are included in the channel listing below
in fine print. The average person likely won't pay much attention to that but will see channels listed in the grid and (rightfully) presume those channels are included (all the time).
That's very sneaky of Dish. They might as well put HBO and Cinemax in the Smart Pack listing as well, those are on free preview this weekend!
The free previews should not even be mentioned when they give details on channel line-ups.
They should at least put an asterisk next to the free previews. I wouldn't be surprised if this ends up with a class-action lawsuit against Dish.
Probably not... Dish will just use the same thing DTV did in December with the SCOTUS to get out a CAL....
I do agree that free previews should not be listed as part of the programming package, however.
