U331 Software Release for the hopper 3 dvr

good morning my friends i want to let you know about the latest software release it is U 331 for the hopper 3.this software release add the youtube app on the menu and the home pages on the hopper 3 dvr i do know if there are any bugs that are fixed on this software release maybe someone could find out for us.

good morning i have a feeling youtube will be coming to the joeys coming at a later time. as soon as i can get a press release proabley after 9am i will find out for you what is going on

Are these updates rolled out slowly or all at once? I checked mine and it is still on older software. Is there a way to force update?

that just depends if your receiver number is on dish's list sometimes you will get your apps added early or late my receiver is proabley on the earliest receiver list.maybe some folks here on the forum will help you out to to force a update to your reciever.

Before anyone sees this and gets excited...there is no way to force a download of newly released software. The receivers are targeted in groups, and generally the software isn't released to all receivers at the same time. Since that often varies, there is no way to tell when your turn is coming, but basically, you have to wait your turn.

I got it on my receiver this morning too. Youtube works GREAT! IF ota is truly fixed , I can eliminate the auto tunes I have set up before I record ota shows-the work around I have been doing since I got the hopper last Spring , to get clear ota recordings.

Just tested an ota show. I hit record on a random ota show and then started it over on my dvr and it WORKS. The ota issues are finally fixed! Thank you DISH!!

And it was fixed in October just like I predicted it would. Took till October 12 of 2012 after I got the first hopper 1 to fix ota issues and it took till October 21 of this year to get the fix for the hopper 3.

I've seen OTA issue "fixed" by a reboot, only to appear a day later. Color me skeptical until I have a week of OTA use under my belt before OTA recordings are scheduled. Plus, it seems the 4K Joey stresses the OTA reception issue more that just watching/recording to the Hopper 3 does, so I'll test it when it shows up.

Of course, the huge irony is the one channel I used the most, the local Doppler Radar / Storm Chaser feed, has been eliminated when our local Fox affiliate decided to get out of the broadcast business and the CBS affiliate (now owned by Sinclair, can't wait for the next round of "negotiations"...) put both CBS 1080/60i and FOX 720/60p streams on the WSBT broadcast channel. Anyway, like I said, I'll test and let you know...

The U331 Software Release didn't happen to give the ability to add OTA stations without a full scan did it? It's a minor problem compared to the OTA recording problems, but still annoying for those with TV antenna rotors.

I just got the update last night and am unable to see my external drive. The sources icon is missing. I have rebooted the hopper and drive with no sucess. The drive is powered and running. I have check all 3 usb connections and none of them work. I want to dump this update.

Yes, I only say " I told you so" when I'm right. It doesn't happen often , so I have to gloat just a little.

Give it a little time. Something else to try, remove the EHD from the Hopper. Unplug the hopper for a minute and then plug it back in. Let the Hopper boot up. After it has booted, plug the EHD back in....
