I don't believe there was ever a free pack. On the DISH site for awhile they compared the Flex Pack to their other packages side by side,they included locals with the Flex Pack for a better comparison so they promoted it as $39.99 including locals, not as a free pack. (though it didn't have to be locals or any add on and that included Autopay) What the new customer gets is $5 off the Hopper DVR fee that existing customers do not.

See my above post. That looks correct though if you have Autopay it should be $5 less.
 
So, just to be clear....
The Flex Pack with no add-on's is available to new customers for $29.99 per month with autopay and no contract if one provides their own equipment and installation?
 
I do see an auto pay $5. I've been autopay for years but never got a discount until I got the H3 upgrade last month.

Have you tried AHC TVGO https://www.ahctvgo.com/watch/ahc/? Its in HD works with Directv and VUE. I Chromecast to smart TV.

So you think I could get Flex Pack if I own receiver/dish without a contract? Do you think I could pay the 1 time $40 (??) DVR fee and get Flex Pack, Autopay discount and DVR service on an appropriate receiver? That would be a very attractive solution if they would do it.

BTW, anyone know what Dish DVR receivers I could buy that would integrate OTA and pay the 1 time fee for DVR?

The 211k is the receiver of choice for what you want to do. Everything else should be doable.

I should have been more thorough in my description of what is wanted. Need to watch on 2 different shows on 2 different TVs and don't mind that 1 would be HD and 1 SD. So looks like maybe a 722K with MT2 OTA Module. Would that do it?

Could the 2nd SD TV control the 722K from another room?

Maybe I should start a new thread and not hijack this one.

Just a final word before you start a new thread.

To do the $40 one-time DVR activation with no DVR fee, you'd need a 211k or 211z. The 722 model line will incur a $10 DVR fee no matter what.

The 211k has a coax RF out so I believe you could watch 2 different programs, provided one is a SAT channel and the other is an OTA channel. I could be wrong about that one.

That's what I was afraid of.

I guess I was thinking of the non-DVR 222k, which has the same experience as the 622/722, except that it can't be turned into a DVR like the 211 can.

After a bit more research and reading another recent thread http://www.satelliteguys.us/xen/threads/how-long-does-it-take-to-format-an-ehd.365542/ I believe I have discovered a possible problem with the 211z/k DVR solution. It seems that there is a 2TB limit on the external hard drive that can be paired with these receivers and it must have it's own power supply (not USB powered). It seems that that manufacturers have moved on to higher capacity devices. Although a few hard drives can still be located as left-over stock, I worry about getting into a situation that relies on outdated equipment.
