No Save Button on OTA Screen

My Hopper 3 detects the OTA module and reboots. When I access the OTA channels screen, I have scan, select all, deselect all, delete and edit buttons. All of them work. I have no save button before or after I successfully do a scan.

The OTA module is useless unless I can save the scanned channels. I have switched USB inputs and the cable with no success. I've tried installing the OTA module without my EHD. No joy.

This OTA module worked as advertised on the HWS.

Anyone have a clue as to why Chuck left the save button off my Hopper 3's OTA screen? :)

Are you sure you need the SAVE button? Some other places in the new U/I that used to have a Save/Cancel selection simply make the changes on the fly.

As you go through the settings you will notice changes occur instantly. There is no need for a save function.

OK, I can live with that. Why don't those automatically saved OTA channels show up in my guide set to "all channels"? Receiver settings indicate that the "OTA antenna enabled and functioning properly."

Yeah, there is no 'save' button - it auto-saves whatever you left in the list. Why they're not showing in the guide is a different problem (not sure what to do either).

Reboot the box ? Delete all of them and re-scan a 2nd time ?

Apparently, there is a save button, at least if you believe Dish.

This is from the Dish instructions for installing the OTA dongle. If I had this button available, I could select it and get the pop up which reads: "Do you want to save your changes before continuing?" and save my selected channels as shown in the next image. Hitting "select" on the remote does nothing without the save button.

If I leave the OTA set up by hitting the "back" button, the Hopper retains all the channels found in the scan until the next nightly reboot. After that I have to rescan.

I have a Hopper with Sling and since the Carbon UI has been installed, there has been no way to change the list of scanned OTA channels. There was a save button in the past, but it was taken away with the current version of CUI. I have been unable to add newly launched OTA subchannels for months because of this.

There used to be. There isn't any longer. Those instructions are out of date.

Yes, on the pre-Hopper 3, new UI software, the OTA channel setup menu is screwed up. The "save" function, whether it's using the Save button that used to be there or an auto-save function simply didn't work. You could hit "Save" and it would appear to work but when you hit the cancel button to back out of the menu, it would ask again if you wanted to save the changes you made. Well, you hit "Save" before, so that's good enough, right ? Nope, it wasn't saving anything and the software knew it, so it asks again.

Brute-force fix attempt ? Unplug the antenna, do a scan, and lose all the channels - presuming it saves the changes. Unplug the module, let it reboot, plug the module back in, let it reboot, do a fresh scan to get the new OTA channels.
