My apologies for not posting earlier. Where I live there has been significant snow accumulation almost daily this month. On top of that we were also hit with the recent major storm that swept through most of the U.S. Last night the roof on my neighbors barn caved in due to heavy snow accumulation allowing his livestock to escape. He and I have been out all night and most of this morning searching for and recovering 12 dairy cows.

2026-02 .NET 8.0.24 Security Update for x64 Client (KB5077863) and 2026-02 .NET 9.0.13 Security Update for x64 Client (KB5077864) have been released. Moderate time needed for those choosing to perform a manual download/install/restart. Quality improvements only. No new operating system features.

I don't think we've seen the pedestrian Patch Tuesday release yet. The KB5077863 listing indicates it is for "Server" rather than "Client" and, as of this writing, they don't list KB5077864 in the Microsoft Update Catalog.

2026-02 Security Update Builds: 26200.7840 and 26100.7840 (KB5077181) has been released. Moderate time needed for those choosing to perform a manual download/install/restart. Quality improvements only. No new operating system features.

I note that Microsoft revised the description of the KB5077863 to reflect that it is a Client update. They've also added critical updates for Windows 10 (for those eligible) and Windows Server to update UEFI security certificates, three security updates for Visual Studio, and a security update for .NET 10.

The Windows 11 updates mentioned above and others can be found by searching for 2026-02 (built into the following link):

This one is an out-of-band update and should be presented as such. They acknowledge that it will address this insufferability:

One wonders if it also takes a swing at any of these that have cropped up within the last week:

Nadella must (or at the very least should) be beside himself.

I have heard from a buddy he got this today:
2026-03 Preview Update (KB5079391) (26200.8116)
I don't see it yet but you can google it and see what it does.

I got it yesterday. It took a while to install, 3 reboots, but I haven't looked at what it's for yet
