As it relates to the Dish account, is access to the music only available via our Dish equipment or can we log in at Sirius and listen online or in our autos? I feel I already know the answer but thought I'd double check. Thanks as always.

It is in home only, you can't take it with you, so to speak. There is a work around that works though. You go in through a DishAnywhere app. You go to Live TV and then put your Xm channel number in and it will play that channel. For example, I just went into DA and went to Live TV. I typed in 09905 and pressed enter. It started playing the 50s channel off of XM...

I think they should let you log in and assign at least one mobile radio to the account since you get it anyway.
You can think what you want when you own the contract. The contract between Dish and Sirius/XM is a perk for Dish customers. To add a mobile radio to that contract would cost all Dish customers more money whether they care about satellite radio or not. If you want satellite radio on your mobile receiver simply get a subscription with that satellite radio company....

Or to put it another way: Only via Dish equipment. If you want SXM channels via other equipment, you need to open and pay for a SXM account, but the SXM account will give you access to the non-music content depending upon tier you subscribe. An SXM account and SXM on Dish are in no way related. As another has stated, SXM in Dish is a perk.

A lossy sounding perk

I find Pandora far superior to sat radio.
Even if it is, does me no good on trips or just driving in the car without burning my data minutes or losing the signal in rural areas. And in reality even from the DISH receiver if you go through a sound bar or audio receiver it sounds pretty good. Certainly a plus for us as part of DISH.

Hear hear Tampa8 about streaming in rural areas. That is one good feature of satellite radio; you can't drive out of range of the satellite. :D On sound quality, it's somewhere between barely adequate to unlistenable, and that changes second to second.

Getting back to Dish, I always felt the CD channels had audio quality superior to SiriusXM channels. I think that's only on Dish. Or is that the old Musak service? :eek

try listening to bluegrass junction you will the same tunes all the time and it sometimes its getting real ridduclus i like outlaw country alot they play a variety that i like to listen to.i am still waiting for tunein and iheart radio Dish network.

Premium spotify with hundreds of songs downloaded to my phone. Bluetooth to vehicle radio, it's a match made in heaven. :)

Sure, I'll just have someone record baseball and football games and put it on a flash drive then send it to me. My car radio already can store hundreds of songs and much of my collection is on there. I want to hear more than just the songs I know and I want to hear music that I may not normally listen to sometimes. It isn't even debatable that there is no way to get what I do from anything but Satellite radio. If I never left my area in Ct the need would not be so great but taking trips or being in Florida and Satellite radio is terrific.
