U224 is now out on HWS

Interesting, Now maybe I'll try to update, Because its available under tools.
When I did it, it rebooted and went to the standby screen, after about 2 minutes it rebooted again and went to the downloading software screen. I guess once new versions are available we will be able to install before it is pushed now

Possibly so. The latest will get pushed after some period of time, as you suggest. Or, if Dish doesn't force it, but you call in about a problem, they'll see you're on an older version and it may be, "update the software, see if it's still happening, and if so, call back". ;)

That'd be my guess as well:)

I went into the settings and selected the "update to latest version" . It went thru all of the motions for about 20 minutes restarting and everything and then it still was on u224 .

At least you triggered it by doing that. If it's like other Dish software updates, it will probably update itself overnight. Otherwise, you can make sure your Joeys are powered down, make sure nothing it set to record for a little while, and then put the Hopper in standby. That may trigger it as long as everything is in standby and nothing is recording or set to start recording for a little while.

It must have as I now have u226 this morning. I will go through my timers later and see if any are missing.

My HWS seems to have tried to upgrade to U226 from U 224 but not successfully. Now the Hopper sees the Joeys but the Joeys cannot see the Hopper. Tech support was stymied. I am trying a manual upgrade.

The manual upgrade solved the problem. Something must have gone wrong with the first download/install.

Is guide hanging a known issue with HWS and U224? Made a favorites list and already its locked 3-4 times on same page until I change to default guide. Doesn't do it all the time.

From your last couple posts, is this a newly installed Hopper? If so, it usually takes them a couple days to settle it after installed, and they can do some odd things like that those first couple days.
