How easy is genie set up.

I am receiving a genie and 2 mini genies today. They told me it was easy enough to do it myself without sending a tech. Just wondering how hard it will be. All advice is appreciated.

Yes. I am replacing existing boxes.

I am pretty much a novice. What is an external power inserter ? I think 2 of the boxes are HR24 and the other an H25.

I have verified that I have 2 - H24 and 1 H25. It appears to be SWM.

If you have H25s, then you have SWM.... should be a cake walk, as long as your cabling is in decent shape.

I don't know why, but they considered this a replacement rather then an upgrade. I am happy to report that all three receiver appear to be working although I did have to call for some assistance.

As far as I heard last was when you installed a Genie, they made sure to come out and do the work, maybe things have changed, or they made a mistake.

They also did not include any boxes or instructions for returning the old boxes.

I was told there was no 2 year extension in a chat. I have printed and saved it.

Old boxes will or should be sent out after you activate the new ones.
