Just switched from DTV. Cheaper and better picture. Used a Linksys USB adaptor on my Hopper 3 but the Joey on my second TV recognized it for about 2 seconds and then I get a no router detected message. Any thoughts? Great site here!

If you can not connect Joey directly to Hopper via coax, you need to get a Wireless Joey and it's dedicated WAP.

What KAB said. While some have been able to get regular Joeys to work wirelessly in similar manner (using the actual Dish Wireless Adapter, I think?), its not a supported configuration by Dish. They make the actual Wireless Joey that works very well using its own isolated WAP that plugs into the H3 to provide the wireless signal to the Wireless Joey (up to three Wireless Joeys, actually).

Oh...and Welcome to SatGuys!
:welcome

Thank you all for your replies and the welcome aboard. I have the info I need to press on. Is it just me or does Dish actually does provide a better picture? Noticed the big difference right away.

There have been several "new guys" who have shared that opinion. Those of us who have had Dish for several years, may not have noticed or appreciated what might be PQ improvement. A year ago or more, the general consensus was DTV was a bit better. OR, maybe DTV PQ has slipped a bit. Hard to say. The other over-all consensus is the H3 PQ is better than it's two predecessors. That could also contribute to your observation.

No telling what cost cutters in picture quality ATT has instituted at DTV, since they took over. Probably a lot.

how would cost-cutting impact picture quality? DirecTV hasn't added any additional channels or lost any satellite capacity. they don't pay by the bit for satellite capacity.

Bridging enabled on the Hopper and recognizing my router. Wireless Joey cannot detect my router. Disconnected power to both units and rebooted with no joy.

NFL Red Zone? DTV?

NFL Redzone, product of NFL Network, available on Dish, no idea if available on DTV.

Sunday Ticket makes any NFL game available, but Redzone is the best parts of every NFL game from 1 to 8 PM every Sunday. No commercials, 7 hours of every Redzone play (and more) from every game.

The only way that you can get Red Zone on DirecTV is if you get the Sunday Ticket Super Fan which next year is going to be about $385.
