I live just outside of Chicago and currently get two Weigel stations on Dish - WCIU and WMEU. On the Dish Promise page, it says that Dish is currently in a dispute with Weigel and the stations were pulled as Weigel was asking for 2x the rate and they refused an extension while they continued to negotiate. I am getting my Weigel stations with no problem. Did I miss something? I just did a Google search and can't find anything on it... and I visit Satellite Guys everyday so I think I would have seen something :biggrin2

They have only two network stations and one of those is LP! The rest are independent. Zero chance DISH cares. If I was betting it would be Weigel doesn't want to be off long if they do go off so there will be an agreement.

Don't you also get WWME-23 - which is ALSO a Weigel station? I'm sure it's part of that dispute as well... ;)

I think you're confused with Weigel stations in another DMA...none of these (3) stations of theirs in Chicago, are affiliated with any (major) TV network, with the exception of WWME-23 being METV.
Weigel DOES have stations w/network affiliations in the South Bend, IN & Milwaukee, WI DMA's...which most likely ARE also affected.

Oh yeah, I forgot 23. Granted, I can get all of these with the antenna so it won't impact me at all in the end. This is more just a matter of if I missed something in terms of the disputes and knowing what is going on in my area.

Not confused. Weigel is Weigel, if stations in Chicago are in dispute so are all of them. Weigel has two stations that are Network as I posted in regards to the dispute where those stations are don't matter. What stations they own are a simple matter of record.

Does WCIU still carry specific games for the Cubs and White Sox, via the WGN broadcast team? If so, I can see that as the only (quasi) major bargaining chip.

Nope. Ever since WGN gave up it's CW affiliation last year, all sports games have been strictly on WGN. Yeah, so no real bargaining chip...
