...before their time and that you wish would return in some form or fashion.

Here are some of mine:

Stalker - Maggie Q and detectives investigating stalkers cancelled after a short 20 episodes.
The Defenders - adventures of two wacky lawyers (Jim Belushi and Jerry O'Connell) that pulled in solid ratings, but was victim of CBS success.
Invasion - hurricane brings forth strange occurrences...cancelled after one season, shame!
Jericho - cult following sci-fi on CBS starring Skeet Ulrich...upsets fans led a campaign to bring it back for another one-half season.
Ghost Whisperers - although it ran five seasons, I miss seeing Jennifer Love Hewitt's boobs each week.
Numb3rs - ran 119 episodes but CBS cancelled this at the last moment (still had solid ratings) and the finale sucked.
Medium - ran seven seasons but still had good ratings...another victim of CBS wanting another CSI, NCIS, Criminal Minds spinoff
Person of Interest - great show...sadly, CBS gave up on this one and writing got stupid as hell.
Firefly - cult sci-fi classic starring Nathan Fillion.
Flashforward - very interesting sci-fi involving time travel that was cancelled after only one season.
Franklin & Bash - the new The Defenders after that show was cancelled on CBS.
Unforgettable - This show ran 4 seasons over what seems like 8 seasons and on different networks. WTF?
Under the Dome - A one season show that lasted 3-seasons...wish they would have kept it once season and spun off different summertime series using some of the actors who gelled on screen.
A Gifted Man - ran only a season but I liked the premise of a show about an arrogant doctor, and also with Rachelle Lefevre from Under the Dome.
The Whole Truth - Rob Morrow (Numb3rs) murder mystery show that offered a unique twist...lasted exactly 13-episodes on ABC, which is a shame.
Human Target - another solid crime show that lasted only a couple seasons on axe happy CBS.
Memphis Beat - My Names is Earl meets Mayberry RFD. Kinda silly, but I liked it.

What are some of the shows you wish would return to the airwaves?

I'd like to see Forever return in some form.
With Body of Proof, I put your Jennifer Love Hewitt casabas up against those of Jeri Ryan. Dana Delaney has been a fave of mine since China Beach.
I second your Numb3rs suggestion.
I was disappointed that they couldn't make a go of Timeless.

Timeless was RENEWED for season 2. However, it's not coming back before 2018, as they "can't find a place for it right now on the schedule".

What the hell....how did my thread get moved under the Renewals & Cancelled thread, which makes absolutely no sense since my thread has NOTHING to do with cancelled/renewal index and involves shows that have been off the air for years. How do I deleted my original post since it doesn't belong here? Ugh!

I have a slightly different take on things. I watched a good portion of the shows you listed. They, and shows like them are the reason why I have all but given up on network TV. They were mostly awful shows that should have never even made it past the pilot, let alone get a full season (or more)

Stalker – Boring police drama.

The Defenders - A show about the worst kind of people, criminal defense lawyers and their skank of an assistant with poor wring an occasional joke that was never funny.

Invasion – At least local boy William Fichtner was the seedy Sheriff of the town. Other than staring an actor who grew up in the area, and having a neighbor at the time who went to grade school with him, I would have never bothered with this show.

Ghost Whisperer - By far the most formulaic show in TV history. Watch one episode, you see them all. Melinda sees ghost, husband gets involved, Melinda tracks down family in unrealistic ways, she confronts family, family think she’s playing a sick prank on them, ghost tells her information no one else knows, family finally believes Melinda, everyone cries, ghost sees light, crosses over, more tears. You could tell the writers couldn’t milk that formula any more when hubby died and was reincarnated as Sam Lucas, and Melinda saw him as Jim and everyone else saw him as Sam. Dumbest plotline ever. Then the final season, let’s have a 5 year old son and have no other character age 5 years.

Numb3rs – Nothing more than CSI:Advanced Algebra. So incredibly farfetched, almost as bad as that dreck called Scorpion currently airing on CBS. The only episode I remember is the one that was a direct rip off of the movie Speed. That nerd of a professor turned FBI agent in CSI:Cyber was one of the most annoying characters ever.

Medium – It was okay in the beginning, but between recycled plotlines and some things being over the top, it wore out it’s welcome. When NBC canceled it and CBS picked it up, it was obvious what CBS was doing with having Medium and Ghost Whisperer back to back on Friday nights and it was lame. The series finale was pretty good though.

Person of Interest – After Carter got killed off, the show went to hell. Didn’t really care for Root or Samaritan Vrs The Machine. Another fine shark jumping moment like Melina having a 5 year old with Shadows and Shineys in Ghost Whisperer or Earl going to prison and using crossing off things off of his list to reduce his sentence in My Name is Earl.

Flashforward – Interesting premises, started out okay, got confusing as hell in the second half of the season..

Unforgettable – Actually, it wasn’t. Watched the first season. Didn’t remember a single thing about the show when I watched S2E1 so I gave up on it.

Under the Dome – I cannot even begin to comment on this one. Funniest non-comedy I ever saw, worst acting I ever saw, most inconsistency from one season to the next I ever saw, worst ending to a series. To this day I am still worried about Rachelle Lefevre’s jeans with how they had the bandage wrapped around them and am in amazement on how those Microsoft Surface’s got wifi. Reading the scathing reviews making fun of this steaming pile of manure made watching the show worth it. The luckiest member of the entire cast was the cow from the first few minutes of the first episode. And to quote South Park ‘The Simpson’s did it!’

A Gifted Man – Everyone was annoying, the bleeding-heart drama was so over the top I found it funny.

Jericho – The only decent one. Jericho was and still is one of my favorite shows on TV. The brought back from the dead, shorted second season didn’t do the first justice. You could tell that they did everything they could to pinch as many pennies as possible. From shooting in less locations, to having some regular cast members absent in some episodes. And while the first season was drawn out to make it last 22 episodes, the second season was incredibly rushed. Coming out only handful of years after 9/11, watching this show made me feel like we could be getting a glimpse of the future. Still to this day, I feel really uncomfortable seeing the flag of the Allied States of America. When a TV show can make me feel like that, they writers are doing a great job. Nuts to CBS!

I agree, someone made a bad call. It's not like this sub forum is so massively viewed that it needs monitoring to begin with!

My wife and I enjoyed "The Agency" which disappeared after a cliff-hanger. Thanks, CBS...

THE GLADES on A&E that also ended with a cliffhanger. Lead character got shot. I just made up my own ending that he survived and they caught the shooter....... .
