There was an uplink this afternoon that appears to have made the RSN channels all HD 24 hours a day. My guide now shows just the HD versions of these channels now (I have HD channels only set.). Finally....

i think this is what Bobby was talking this is on James long uplink report for today finally now they can maybe they can work on getting the rest of the HD channels added too.

Yes, how did us Dish subs survive without having reruns and Informercials not in HD during the day the last few years

Maybe in another eight years when my kids outgrow the channels we'll finally have Disney Jr and Nick Jr in HD...

Great to turn on NBC Sports Chicago this morning and see the show in HD! Not recording SD by mistake, and, in the summer, no more issues of having a west coast baseball game go late due to a rain delay or extra innings and having to tune into the SD version of the channel to watch the end of the game.
what i heard is that dish needs the SD channels for rain fade or if dish can figure a way to downconvert the HD signal when it rains it would be better.
My guess would be that the SD versions stay on EA due to NBA League Pass, Extra Innings, and Center Ice - at least for the remainder of this season since LP and CI were SD/HD at the beginning of the season. There is the SD and HD channels for those packages for the most part just mirror the RSN channels. Will be interesting to see if Extra Inning this spring is HD only (or at least some verbage saying EA is HD only) - that would be more of a sign to me that the SD RSN's will disappear.

But why would any network want their HD feed split up like Dish did
In my setup, I find that SD is much more resilient to rain fade. Of course it’s not 100%, but it always seems to outlast the HD feed.
I had assumed when you got the "switching to SD" message, it was going to another satellite. So if the HD feed was on 129, and you experienced rain fade, it would tune the SD channel in off 119 or 110. I don't pay enough attention to uplink reports to know if HD & SD feeds are on different satellites.
I have no idea what satellites carry which channel in which definition. It may very well switch to another satellite when it tunes to the SD equivalent when it looses the HD feed.. and maybe that’s why it works. My feeling is that as long as my hopper knows which satellite to tune too, that’s all I need.
