Switch Dish Box to TV2 instead of TV1

How can I move my tv box to the room where TV2 is and make that TV1? Do I have to do something to the cable outside?
TV1 must be directly connected to the Dish outside. So you will have to figure out how to do that. Likewise, TV2 has to cable to the receiver.

I presume you have a 722.

Label both coaxial cable connection wires on the back of your receiver.

There are two cables to be concerned with.

One goes from the outside dish to the receiver (CABLE 1), the other goes from the receiver to TV2 (CABLE2).

Go to the back of TV2 and label that cable CABLE2 also.

CABLE 2 will not be moved, but the TV2 signal will be reversed in the wire.

Cable 1 must be disconnected from the 722 receiver and moved to the location of TV2 which will be the new location of your 722 receiver.

Connect CABLE 1 to the same connection it had in its precious location.

Connect the end of cable 2 that was on TV2 to the RF output on the back of the 722 receiver.

Connect the old TV2 to the HDMI/Component+RCA/Component+RCA connectors from the receiver whichever is appropriate.

Back where the receiver was, connect the CABLE 2 end that was in the receiver into the RF input on old TV1.

Now old TV1 is now TV2 and old TV2 is now TV1.

New TV2 will have to be tuned to the same channel that old TV2 was on to receive the RF modulated signal from the 722 receiver.

What if it's diplexed? (which it probably is)

It depends on the technical expertise level of the OP as to what advice I'd give.

we have 3 722k with tv1 and 2 on all so when I go outside how do I know which duplex to change

For this I think a wiring diagram is in order.

Silly me for thinking a simple 1 receiver 2 TV setup, no diplexer or triplexer.

The principal is still the same you just have to ... well I'd need a diagram to give accurate info.

We have a triplex in the house but duplex outside
If the receiver is connected via a Triplexor and all three lines (blue, blue, yellow) are connected to the receiver, it's simple. Move the receiver to the other room and connect the cable to the triplexor, then plug the cable into the coax port on the original TV1. Then go to the diplexor and swap the In/Out and UHF/VHF ports. In out goes to the receiver, UHF/VHF to the TV2.

If you don't know the remote codes for your TV's, post the brand names and I'll give you the codes for them.

Some off hand are:
Samsung - 858
Vizio - 627
LG - 766
Sony - 500
Sanyo - 590

To program, hold the white tv button down til all the lights light up, then enter the code and #, no too fast, the Sat button will flash 3 times, then hit the volume and see if it works. Then hit the White Sat button to get out of TV mode

I think I'm trackin' But i have 3 different diplexers outside and I don't know how to tell which one goes with the receiver I'm moving. Is there a way to tell?

Disconnect them 1 at a time until the box loses signal

Duh!! Thant makes sense! I switched the cables outside and moved the box. Now I'm getting error message 31-11-15 in tv 1. Do you know what that means? I can watch dvr but nothing else.

You're not getting signal, you only swapped in/out with VHF/UHF ports, correct? And the other thing, the spot you put the box is for sure the TV2 for THAT box? You may have to put it back and remove UHF/VHF connections on the diplexors until your TV2 loses signal, then pair them up on the same diplexor, but you're gonna have remote address issues if they weren't matched up previously

The simple way would be to hold down the TV mode button on the old remote until all of the mode lights turn on, and then press the pound (#) button twice. The mode button will then blink to tell you the code that the remote was already programmed for. There will be a pause between each number before it blinks the next number. A zero is indicated by a very short flash. For example, the Sony code above would be indicated by five blinks, pause, short flash, pause, short flash. Write down this code, then write down the TV code for the other remote, and then reprogram each remote to the other's old TV code.

You know how long I've wanted to know how to do that???
