ME TV On Dish

I don't understand how my playback looks fine and the same as my OTA 5.3, while everybody else claims it's squished. I'm on EA.

I get METV OTA on 2.2 in 720p and it looks great. The 247 I can stretch it out to fill most of the screen for widescreen, but as others have stated METV on 247 does not look as sharp as it should even in SD. They need to get the aspect correct. It seems to depend on TV sets and their adjustments, what the viewer gets. Fortunately my Toshiba does have several settings.

I still don't understand why MeTV sends 4:3 content as 14:9 stretched and zoomed. Do they think it looks better?

Lost ME TV as of 5:30 pm central time, not even on guide ? Anyone else having that problem ? Just came back to Dish see nothings changed , still have problems.

thanks for the reply, must be tech issue. hopefully be back on

Seeing the uplink report on the other site, it said that a "regional restriction" was added to MeTV. I live in a market that has MeTV OTA. Maybe they blocked it from areas that have MeTV in their locals?

I also have a local MeTV and I can still see 247.

I think what happened, is if Dish offers METV in their local package, not OTA, then 247 in blocked. I doubt if it would be blocked if it was available OTA, as everyone does not have OTA. In the Seattle DMA KFFV 45 carries METV so, it is blocked if you have have the Seattle locals on Dish. Here I get two copies anyway, 2.2 KATU carries METV in widescreen 720p. The pq is great. Are all these markets reported 247 blocked, is the channel carried by Dish in the locals package? I know there are some markets that do have METV on Dish.

That's certainly possible. METV benefits having DISH carry it nationally even if there is an affiliate in the Market but not carried by DISH. But if there is a local carried by DISH they would want people to watch their commercials when they are different. As an example Chicago and Mt Vernon were dropped and they are carried locally by DISH in each market. Neither of those markets shows channel 247 as a place to watch METV on the METV site.
