The reason LeMarr ws shown on the bridge is he was assisting Issac with the scientific analysis of the spacial rift/anomaly (cue Bones saying "Why is everything we don't understand an 'anomaly'?")

The only problem I had with the final episode was its predictability once the premise of the temporal nature of the planet's orbit was revealed, with Issac filling in for Data. They needed to sign a treaty stating the inhabitants of this planet would leave the Union's universe alone for the 11-12 hours that the planet is phased into it. After all, every 700 years, 12 hours is nothing. But I did wonder, with them exploring their native universe, when the home world disappears for 70 years, what effect does that have now?

I finally got to the finale episode last night and enjoyed it very much. I'm very much looking forward to next season. Do we know if they ordered another "half season" or if it is a full 20+ episode season?

N A I L E D It! Each episode I watch that is my conclusion. Bet he will do a direct homage to Trek eventually.. something like a Trouble with Tribbles episode... or slip in a little Klingon reference..

Appel also teased a potential crossover with MacFarlane's live-action series The Orville. They said the writers of Family Guy have written a script where "we end of live on the bridge of The Orville." He said they've sent it to MacFarlane for approval. But don't hold your breath.

Lots of shows are moving to the 13 episode format. The 14th is because of the leftover from last season.

I actually prefer this format, for the same reasons that McFarland gave.

I still prefer 20-22 episodes. At least you have something new to watch for 4-5 months straight.

Everyone talks about the new 10-13 format being better due to not having filler, but the word "filler" in and of itself is debatable. One could argue there were at least 3-4 uninteresting (or "filler") episodes during the first season of The Orville, and that would already encompass 33% of the entire season.

I'm still convinced the whole point of moving to the shorter format is to reduce costs. Actor salaries have gone up over the years, cable/sat company expenses have risen (mainly due to broadcasting networks getting greedier by the minute), and likewise cable/sat subscribers have fallen, due to streaming services and cord cutters. So, what better way to reduce costs amidst rising expenses, than to order less episodes?

When you break it down, 13 episodes every 2 years would be about 6 episodes per year. Don't you find that just a little bit ridiculous? Even a tiny bit? Or maybe it's because networks don't want to commit to the science fiction genre. We're not talking premium cable HBO/Showtime mini-series or limited-run event series here. If you look at shows like The Price Is Right, or daytime soap operas... hundreds of episodes per year. Even other FOX primetime shows like Gotham and Lucifer have 22-26 episodes per season, for crying out loud.

Not really. Like I said, I find 13 episodes per year being a nice point. Let's be stay catched up and watch more stuff, while allowing for me to have a family life outside of watching television.

With the 1 hour shows, I've just found that 13 ep/yr works great. It also helps prevent burnout on the those shows, especially the ones that have been on for several years (ala NCIS).

Headlines for the future all the teenagers have matured and forgot the 2017 series that was a hit on FOX.

Problem is, in most cases they show 5-6 weeks before the Christmas Break and come back in Feb, so you have Months without and your suppose to stay with it and just accept it.

That’s the network execs fault, that don’t have a clue and will be without a job eventually, when rating fall off on hit show because everyone forgot about it or tired of the repeats and moved to other new programming.

If they start mid to late September like usual, they can show their 8-10-13 episode run before the holiday breaks or wait and run them afterwards leading into May sweeps, putting in a shorter series between the winter and spring break to better align with May sweeps. Several nets and shows have finally started doing it that way the last year or so.

UK and Canada have been doing it that way for years, which is one reason I watch a lot more of UK and Canadian programming . It’s also what you see Netflix and Amazon doing with their series. Less repeats, lower production costs, tighter storylines without a bunch of filler. Win Win

I had to get Hulu to watch it and I found that the commercials are killing me along with the fact I can't RESUME ... the other day I watched half of an episode, came back later and had to start from the beginning ... apparently theres no Resume button on Hulu.

I have Hulu, not Hulu+.

Everytime I tried to stream something on Fox, X-Files and Orville it said I didn't have athority to watch these shows or something like that, so I quit trying Fox.

I did that .... when I tried Fox, at least I think I did.

Ok, I just pulled up Fox Now on my Roku ... its already been installed according to the Roku web page for channels ...

I went into the Fox Now shows and found The Orville ... I click on it and it says :

Now at the top of the screen at the top right hand it says FOXNOW I Directv

So what else do I need to do ?
I downloaded the app to the Roku thru the web page and it appears that I have logged in with my service provider ?

I think I got it resolved ...
I went back in and Un Registered my Directv and then re registered it and put in a new activation code and it seems to be working ... lets hope theres less commercials than on Hulu.

Looks like commercials are about the same ...
