i got the OTA adapter for my Hopper Duo it will only pick up 7 channels i got 37 hooked to my tv does anybody else have a problem picking up channels
The dual tuner is not very sensitive. Signal "strength" needs to be above 75-80% reading on the Hopper for OTA channels to work reliably.
You will need to improve your TV antenna reception.
Even stations that read that strong are not always reliably picked up by the scan. I have a couple of channels that consistently read 100%, yet they are not always found on the scan every time, nor are the few channels that read around 80% or slightly less. It always takes several scans on my Wally before I can get all of the stations to come in at the same time. I honestly think that this is partly a software problem, with the software automatically rejecting any stations that it "thinks" are reading too low, instead of listing everything it finds and letting us make that decision.
well it has completely quit working i have scanned 10 are 15 times and it finds nothing i am sending it back to Amazon

Any chance I can use this Hauppage 955Q I have sitting here, or have they purposely made everything proprietary?
Does the Dish Single OTA tuner have better reception than the Dual OTA tuner? My TiVoHD gets 76 OTA channels but the Wally Dual OTA tuner only gets 43 channels. Both are connected to a Winegard SensarPro.
At the very least, the scan seems to work better with the single OTA tuner, for whatever reason. One possible work-around is to use the single OTA tuner to scan all of the channels it can find into the Wally, and then switch to the dual-tuner. (There is no need to re-scan again after swapping OTA adapters. The channels from the single tuner's scan will still be listed.)
I receive substantially more channels with the single tuner adapter than the dual tuner model. There have been a lot of changes recently but I went from 61 channels to 47 when I switched to the dual tuner and got the other 14 back when I went back to the single tuner adapter.
In fairness though I know someone who lives quite close to me who had a much better experience with the dual tuner losing only one channel he does not watch.
If you have strong signals the new dual OTA tuner will work. Plus it will heat your house. But if some of your signals are weaker you will only receive them with the older single tuner. In my case the difference was 14 additional channels using the older single tuner.
Not necessarily. I have a rooftop antenna which gets full signal on a number of channels that the Dual won't pick up. I'm going back to the single and I'm staying with it.
My dual quit working, I swapped back to my single OTA tuner. I just wish they would fix the dropped audio on the recordings. If I watch it live the audio is fine.
One of my duals quit working as well. I honestly think that it over heated. My other dual is suspended in mid air in the coolest part of my vented cabinet. No issues so far
None the less - I think you can get a new dual tuner directly trough dish if you subscribe to the dish protection plan or whatever it’s called.
