So I give Dish an 8 out of 10 with the reason of buggy hopper software. In response I receive the attached email. I do not subscribe to DishLATINO. Big sigh.
Hi WILLIAM,
We appreciate your feedback and we are truly sorry that you have not had a good experience with us recently.

On June 30, DISH’s contract with Univision expired. While we worked hard to come to an agreement by the deadline, unfortunately Univision walked away from the negotiation table. Because we didn’t reach a new agreement by the deadline, Univision removed its Univision, UniMás y Galavision channels from your DISH service. Univision commonly uses this tactic in negotiations in an effort to drastically raise the rates DISH and our competitors pay them. In the last two years, they have done it to customers of AT&T, Verizon, and Charter (Spectrum), and they are now doing it to you, our customers. Their objective is simple: To pressure a roughly 75% rate increase for what we pay them to carry their channels. At DISH and DishLATINO we do not agree with these demands because our goal is to keep prices low for you.

For DISH and DishLATINO, you are our priority. We always look to provide the best content at the best value and this demand from Univision is contrary to this principle.

As you can imagine, the withdrawal of these important channels from DISH’s channel line-up has generated many calls to our customer service centers, and our agents have not been able to answer the calls as fast as you normally are accustomed to. For that reason, we offer our most sincere apologies.

While we continue doing all that we can to reach a just agreement with Univision, we are providing some additional entertainment and news content for you:

- On channels 827 and 270 we are showing movies in Spanish 24 hours per day.
- On channels 830, 831, 271 and 272 we have activated Multimedios
- On channels 273 and 833 we have activated Mexicanal

We appreciate your understanding and patience as we keep fighting for you.

Thank you for being a valued DISH and DishLATINO customer.

Sincerely,

Alfredo Rodríguez
Vice President

Got the same survey and same e-mail when I gave them less than a 10. I can't help but feel like they're a little spooked by the Univision blackout? Unless they're gauging how spooked they should be.

The annoying pop-up this past weekend, to remind everyone that we can change the menu language to Spanish, certainly didn't help things, either. All these efforts do is annoy the English-speaking subscribers, who otherwise might not have even noticed the Univision take-down.

To be honest, I thought I prompted that pop-up until I came here. I've been watching Multimedios even though I can't speak Spanish because their TV is wild.

Yes.

Edit: actually, I guess the lip sync was just slightly off for the movie I happened to be watching when I posted this, which actually was in Spanish. The lip sync got better as the movie went on, so it was probably just a technical glitch on my end. Other movies are in English, with Spanish subtitles.
