I know many of us here shares the same struggle.

Initially I have tried placing the adapter into an open-air location, relocating the OTA antenna, replacing the coax cables, plus reducing the number of coax connectors used. But the overall improvement so far was only marginal.

The final thing I tried was to use a 25dB antenna signal booster I purchased from Amazon for less than $10. This did make a material difference for me. A channel whose reception used to be very unstable has been solid since. Without the booster, the signal strength of that channel was hovering around 65 by the detection of the Dish receiver. It is around 75 now.

Only works if you aren’t using a preamp with your antenna. Otherwise, combining a booster with a preamp would cause excess noise and degrade the signal.

My antenna is 200’ of coax away from my ota tuner.

I rely on a pre amp and a 25 dB gain distribution amplifier to send the signal to every room in the house.

Yep, with 200 feet of coax from the antenna to the distribution amp you definitely need a preamp. You would need it even without the distribution amp.
