Decided to cancel my two Joeys today and use Dish Anywhere on those tv's. Is there anything I need to do with the node or any of the other wiring?

Wouldn't hurt to put 75 ohm terminators on the ends of the Joey lines, or on the node/hub on the client port(s).

The gal I had on the phone with Dish told me that I didn't have to do anything but I wondered about that. It's never a good idea to leave lines "charged" like that even though there's no voltage to speak of. I can get at the node so disconnecting the lines and putting the terminators on there might be the best. Now I just have to find two terminators:) Back in my cable/antenna days(late 70's) we used to make our own with a 75 ohm resistor and a F connector.

Never have, but there's a first time for anything. I'm currently building a pergola on our back deck.. And that's a first. I was thinking more along the lines of dish or similar.. Audio/video..

I knew what you meant, just trying to be funny. It's Friday you know:)

I do most of my own audio video stuff since I have some background in that. The only thing I don't do is anything that requires being on the roof. I will reach out if I ever need help with the dish or OTA antenna.

You'd be surprised. I had a lady a while back who wouldn't sign off on her Dish installation until I hung her clock on the wall for her. True story. :)

Remember the Hopper streams to just one device at a time unlike the Joeys which both can stream.

Just keep in mind that you will only be able to watch one of those TVs at any one time. There is only one output of DishAnywhere...

Yes, I knew about this limitation with DA. Haven't told my wife yet though...

For one of the two tv's that had Joey's we also have a component feed in from the Hopper. As long as no one is using the Hopper downstairs that tv can use it. This was how we could have service on two tv's when we had a 922 and 211 on the 3rd tv. Since there's just the two of us we shouldn't have many conflicts.

Our bill with the AT120+ w/locals had jumped to $128/month so it was time to make some changes.

Are you getting existing customer discounts?

My two year price guarantee just ended. They gave me two new options. The first was the one they really pushed which was a new two year price guarantee that amounted to a $25/month credit for two years with no yearly increase. That got me back to about what I was paying. They also offered a $40/month credit for one year with no price guarantee. Either way it was still more than I wanted to pay right now. As of today the two Joey's are cancelled and I switched to the Flex Pack for at least the summer. When my Badgers start playing again in the fall I'll have to figure out a new plan. The next thing on the chopping block is the $12 local pkg.

Can’t quite give up the last Joey here. Cannot see indoctrinating better half on anything new yet. After getting her familiar with the new Hopper interface she’s become quite handy with it.

I hear ya. If you read my other thread regarding replacing the Joey's with Dish Anywhere, it was a major concern whether my wife would get on board or not. So far she has adapted well.

Why wouldn't you just keep the flex pack and just add the regional action pack or national action pack on Saturdays as needed?
