I recently picked up a really nice Unimesh 10 foot wire mesh dish. It looked like it was straight out of the box nice. I had been using a 7.5 foot Perfect 10 to receive MeTV and the other channels on this bird and had a signal of 72/ 55 on MeTV. I peaked this dish until I was blue in the face, and that's the best it would do. However.

I took the dish I just got, checked the focal distance and centered the feed until it was literally perfect and installed a new Titanium LNBF. I took the smaller dish down, put this one on the pole and gained 2 points. It went to 72/57 and that was it. Had a whopping good signal on Start TV, 94/91 and gained a few points on all the other channels. What kind of signal are you guys getting on MeTV? Just curious!

My wife had a good laugh and said it was hardly worth the effort. Women.

I can tune it on a 1.2m :D

When i was installing BUD's we moved into an apartment until our house was finished. I had about 20 feet between our building and the one next door. To get TV, I set a 14 foot pole and mounted a 6 footer on it and got every satellite. It worked just fine, but that was before 2 degree spacing.

I ran an R.L. Drake ESR 240A receiver and a Drake dish mover. I remember a movie channel called Select TV. It was actually better than HBO & Cinemax. All the movie services were the biggest liars. They'd say "can't be seen on HBO or Showtime" and they'd be running them at the same time. We figured out you could activate one or the other for a month, then shut it off for three months and by then they'd have a couple new movies.

We got everything free for several years. :)

East Texas, 25+ year old 10 foot unimesh dish with hail damage and shovel damage ( pulled up a panel removing snow)

98 signal, 98 quality on METV.

But that does not mean anything because I am using a Linkbox 9000 with an ASC1 dish mover and skew controller!

Everything is 98/98! To try to fine tune, I have run the dish back and forth, write down the #s and do the math to find the middle# !

The same with skew. I recently had to change my vertical skew to regain METV after it was lost. Others on V still came in!

What receiver are you using? LNB or LNBF?

Some receivers can be adapted to show the SNR, or DB, the right way of showing signal available.

An Amiko H 265. When I was using the 7.5 foot dish, I was never able to get Newsy. I suspected it was due to interference from an adjacent satellite. It was. As soon as I swapped out the 7.5 for a 10 foot, it came in perfectly. As for my LNBF, It's a Titanium dual output with the WiMax filters. I have those on all 6 of my BUD's.
