We just received fro Directv an HR24-500-A intended to replace an old and failing HR22-100. The HR22 requires a DCA at the input to separate the internet (Ethernet) and the satellite input signal. Does the HR24 also require a DCA??? There is an Ethernet port on the back of the HR24 but it does have an easily removable cover on that Ethernet port. So do we need the DCA on the HR24 or drop it off and just plug the sat signal directly into the input??? thanks..

If there is a decca somewhere in the house putting the internet in the coax, then no.

I think the decca in the hr22 was required because a decca was not built In the receiver. So basically the Internet was split out of the coax before going in the receiver

Yes, in another room where the SAT signal comes in there is a place where the SAT signal and our internet signal are combined. Then at the current HR22, the reverse occurs when the SAT and internet are broken out and each are separately plugged into the back of the HR22. As I said above, the HR24 also has an Ethernet input port but it has an easily removable cover. That appears to be hinting at the notion that a decca is not required but I wanted to ask here to be sure... So you say NO decca required and that the "split out" is now done within the HR24. thanks...
