HR24-500/RC72 problem

I am trying to use an RC72 with an HR24-500 in IR mode. It works for the most part. I can't figure out how to lock the volume to a Denon 3310CI. In the "program remote" setting it calls for the mode slider switch to be placed in AV1 or AV2 position to do this. There is no mode slider switch on an RC72. Does anyone know if I can program The RC 72 with an HR24 to do this?

That's a little tricky. You may be able to manually program if you can find the five digit code for your receiver. Try following the directions from the legacy remote on this page. There is a link to the code lookup too:

The holding mute+select then entering five digit code works on both remotes, you just don't have the mode slider on the newer one. If nothing else, you can always buy the older remote if needed. Or if you have access to an HR44 or up possibly use it to program the remote and then use it at your HR24, just make sure it isn't in RF mode.

I have plenty of RC64 and 66 remotes that work fine, just had an RC72 also and thought to try it. Thanks for the ideas.
