Usually companies have some internal formula that automatically kicks out the offers to certain people. It probably uses some obvious and some not-so-obvious factors to determine how likely you are to leave by comparing you with the profile of other customers who have left, as well as how profitable you are to AT&T (i.e. how hard they want to try to keep you)
I received the free offer email in December for 2020 season. No ATT cell plan because ATT has very poor service here.
Now this is my story of the big discount/promotion fairy godmothers.
January all the promos pricing had expired and the bill skyrocketed. Called retention to see what they could do and the rep put me in to what was described as “pre-shut off stage.” Sent me off to a second rep who then proceeded to find discounts, $200 visa card, premium movie promotions and once again NFL Sunday ticket 2020 max. Asked me to call back the next month and an additional discount was applied. Now we are enjoying ‘D for $35 a month for 12 months and NO contracts. YMMV.

I have not got a email but just logged on acct shows NFL ST and Sunday Ticket Max 2020 Free.

wonder if this will just fall off acct after the season or gonna have to call to cancel. Because i know with other ST offers they would roll over unless your canceled
I hope it falls off. It always takes me several calls to find someone who can properly cancel sports, including sometimes contacting the president of ATT office.
I wouldn't count on it .... but thats quite a ways away before you need to nmake that call.
Same here. Just got my bill and it shows NFL ST MAX. Not counting on anything since it's four months until the season starts...and that's if it starts on time or at all.
I looked back in March at my bill and they were taking money out for the MLB EI package, which I typically do get ... but I prefer to pay it up front once ...
I asked them how it is that they are taking money out of my account for something that they don't know that I will want this year ?
If I decide I want it, I'LL let them know and pay at that time ...
As it turns out, theres probably Not going to be a Baseball season and they would have still been taking money out for it ... I know they do it that way to spread the payment out, but you can't do that before I tell them that I want it.
Anyways, they stopped the withdrawl of the money.

Did you forget to cancel the auto renewal or were they just charging you for the fun of it? You have to watch ATT every second.
I ordered MLB back in Feb and changed my mind. It took until mid April and 2 calls to the presidents office to get my first payment I made back.

I didn't notice the bill in Jan, but did notice it in Feb ... that seems to be an awful early time to have to cancel when the season wouldn't usually start till April ...
On a positive, I was credited the 2 months the next month.
I told them, with the Pandemic going on, to Cancel my monthly billing and if I decided to get it this year, I would do a one time payment at that time that I decide.
I got my email the week of the 2020 draft, and yes I have ATT cell phone service, so I get NFL Ticket free, sure am happy, now hope a season happens, can't see them not doing a season, they'd lose so much money, not just season ticket holders, but from TV revenue.

I never got the email, but I called the Loyalty Dept a few weeks ago to see if they could discount my monthly bill given the economic lockdown and when they couldn't help me, they transferred me to the VIP Department with thet understanding that they would put my account in a "pending termination" status before transferring me. Once I was transferred, they gave me $60 off my monthly bill and Sunday Ticket Max for the 2020 season for free. I never even asked for the Sunday Ticket, he just offered it.

This is interesting. This year will be my 25th year with DirecTV and Sunday Ticket. I have NEVER gotten Sunday Ticket for free. After a number of years after they split out RedZone from the regular Sunday Ticket, I had to start begging every year like most people for something. I would say about 75% of the time they give me Max. The rest of the time they say no thanks but may give me a few months of Showtime or something else which I have no interest in. Usually by now I see something being charged for Sunday Ticket and have to start my phone calls, but I haven't seen anything yet in my account today. But I'll be glad to keep paying so they give it away to others.
