I have two questions. 1. My dish is on one of those metal frames that sits on the ground with a couple of cement blocks holding it down. I get good reception but I'm tired of weed eating around it and was thinking of moving it to a 4x4 wood post that supports my porch overhang what do you think. 2. I have the flex pack and was thinking of upgrading so I can get METV channel dish website says its on channel 247 but when I look at the unsubscribed channels I don't have it's not there. Any ideas.? Thanks for your help.

You will be better served by putting a metal post in concrete in the ground than trying to use a wooden post to mount your dish. Wood has a tendency to warp and move with weather conditions and it could put your dish out of alignment.

Sounds like someone blew off setting up a pole mount for your install. Call Dig Safe/Julie, have the ground marked and call Dish to have a tech come and do the pole mount

METV had been on 247 up until 4 or 5 months ago. Now in the Denver area, it's on 32, but that might be a local sub channel. METV website claims your zip code 74437 is on Dish 247, but if you don't see it on all channels list, then upgrading probably won't help.

I've been wondering why a few select markets get ME-TV included with the locals and the rest of us have to buy the at least the120 package for ME-TV? You would think that they could include it with the flexpack seeing how terrible the compression is...my locals only include ABC,CBS,FOX..and PBS.. No wonder nobody wants their crappy locals in this market area

I'm guessing because MeTV is provided by a local channel AND Dish and the local broadcaster came to an agreement to carry it.

And yea, I'm sure no one wants to watch any of the big 4.

Yes, I'm quoting myself. I can't edit anymore. I'm not claiming PBS is part of the big 4. But saying no one wants to watch ABC, CBS, and FOX is totally incorrect.

You don't want METV channel. It's horizontilly compressed. Not whatchable. If you can get it OTA, that's the better option.
Where the OTA option is zoomed, cropped, and horizontally stretched. TV/receiver settings can't adjust that.

Just how often do you talk to yourself..... Do you call yourself by your name? :biggrin :biggrin

Last time I was looking awhile ago the Networks have more viewers in an evening than almost any Cable channel does. An exception is sometimes FOX NEWS does beat a particular show or hour.

Depends on the local. MeTV is delivered to the locals in HD (not always 16:9, sometimes 14:9, and sometimes 4:3 depending on the show).
I think it's coming from the national source. 4:3 content is shoehorned (zoomed, stretched, and cropped top/bottom) into a 14:9 feed. You can even see it in Dish's channel 247 after unsquishing it with the TV or receiver settings. The top and bottom are cropped and the image is zoomed compared to the 4:3 DVD original. (I've done this comparison with MASH episodes.)
