My replacement dish hopper 3 will only go have way on the testing installation screen for acquiring satellite signal

If the receiver and smart card haven't been activated for the new Hopper, it could cause the test installation screen to not go away. You can reach out to our Chat support for assistance with getting that done, as well as any troubleshooting here: Direct Chat

Another cause could be the cabling. You would want to make sure you have the coax cable connected to the correct place on the Hopper, and tightened at both the Hopper and your wall/floor.

Being activated has nothing to do with passing a check switch. Check switch is the first step when you plug a new Hopper in. Long before it activates
