NFL 2020

I bet MANY of them did or at least restructured ...
I know for a fact that Big Ben did with his last contract, he had them redo his so some of his O Line could stick around ...
Probably do the same this time around.

You REALLY think that Brady is the ONLY one that has restructured a contract to keep players or so they can get another ?

It wouldn't surprise me if Wilson hasn't done that and I bet Mahomes will in the future.

I vehemently disagree that “MANY” did the same thing. I don’t have the evidence right in front of me, but I’m willing to bet that’s not true. That’s why most team’s dominance has a short shelf life. Their superstars want their big pay day and there’s not enough funds to go around for the important supporting cast. And not to speak for Cosmo, but he wasn’t saying that Brady was the only one that does this. He was just saying it’s not the norm.

RIP to Marty Schottenheimer. I didn’t know he was ill until I read Peter King’s column yesterday when he said Marty was placed n hospice care. Marty’s teams won 200 regular season games- the 8th most in NFL history

He said:
I don't think any of these guys took a discount.....

Then gave a list ... looking at the list, not all too ALL the Money for themselves ...

So, is everybody in NE, Tom Brady Fans ?

Looks like the NE area viewers were watching theSB more than the Champion Tampa Bay fans according to ratings.

Can I say fake news ?

Just give it a little thought. home team in a SB. football rules in Florida.
the NYC Nielsen's just don't know how to measure down there. lol

Brady more than likely didn't worry about making ALL the money because he knew that his Wife brings in MORE than he does.

And what about the bank book scorecard that we always hear referenced when it comes to these high profile athletes? Apparently Brady and his ego never cared about it. He cared more about surrounding himself with talent to make his team a more viable contender . And yes, what Giselle makes absolutely makes that decision easier, but are these other guys going to suddenly have to live in a cardboard box if they leave money at the table?? No matter how you want to slice it, ALL these guys are making more than enough money to get through several generations (as long as they have a strong financial advisor in place). It’s the ones that are willing to take a little “less” of the pie that can have their cake and eat it too (sorry for the crossed metaphors ).

Not everyone in New England is a Patriots fan, but if you are a Pats fan why wouldn’t you root for Brady (unless he was playing against the Pats)?

I was just thinking, with him leaving NE, that might change peoples minds.
When players from my teams leave, I root for the player, not necessarily the team he went to ... (depends on the situation) ... even College to Pro.

I think my Steelers should have drafted Rb JK Dobbins from Ohio State, I root for Dobbins to play great while I still very much dislike Baltimore as a team.

Speaking for myself, not in Brady’s case. He was drafted with the 199th pick in the 2000 draft. If he was released in training camp it would have been nothing but a little blip in the sports world. Belichick liked something he saw in him in that 2000 training camp. So much so that he carried 4 quarterbacks in 2000. A rarity then, today or anytime in the NFL. Brady was behind Drew Bledsoe, John (Mr.) Friesz and Michael Bishop on the depth chart. In 2001 he worked all the way up to #2 on the depth chart. Drew Bledsoe gets seriously injured in the second game of the season, the Patriots start 0-2 (coming off a 5-11 season in 2000) and Brady comes in and leads them all the way to a Super Bowl championship that season, and then 5 more after that. How could I not root for him? He delivered the goods. My first sports love was the Red Sox. I had my heart broken time and time again. Sometimes in the most torturous ways (1986). I was 12 years old when I was at Fenway for the infamous “Bucky Dent Game” in 1978. To this day I’ll never forget an elderly gentleman from Maine sitting next to me, sobbing uncontrollably saying “I’ll never see them win”. Ironically enough, my final straw was the year before they won it all. Game 7 of the 2003 ALCS when they blew that lead against the Yankees. I was crying to my wife saying the same thing that the elderly gentleman said in Fenway 25 years before that.....”I’ll never see them win it all”. The next day I’m watching the evening news, and they’re showing Roger Clemens pouring beer over the Babe Ruth statue during the celebration in Yankee Stadium. It wasn’t bad enough that we had our hearts ripped out once again, but one of our former stars is rubbing it in by pouring beer on the statue that symbolizes the Red Sox futility against the Yankees. I disowned Roger Clemens right there and then. He never delivered the goods here, but went to our hated rivals and helped them once again embarrass us. AND unlike Brady, he was a golden boy, can’t miss prospect out of the University of Texas. Sorry for the long rant, but I’m trying to paint a picture of why I could NEVER root against Tom Brady.

That was about the same time I started watching the Red Sox, when it felt like they could play against the Yankees and win .... none of the other teams had much of a chance.

I always liked Roger Clemons, watched him pitch in Texas (not in person) and followed him from there.

Brady, what can you say about Brady, in the Pro's he's always come thru ... college, not so much, but he's one of those guys that was just Better in the Pro's ... Joe Montana was that way as well.
