Signing up for DirecTV now a smart move?

So I just signed up for DirecTV again after about a 3 year break. Install set for this Saturday. I have an existing dish on my chimney, which requires the tech going on my roof. Not sure they do that anymore?

my main concern is signing up and locking in for 2 years. Seems DirecTV’s future is really in limbo and not sure ATT is even supporting it much any longer. I’m not as big of a streaming fan as I thought I’d be and the Sunday ticket along with nba pass thrown in, won me over.

what does everyone here think?

Mike, they will probably place a dish elsewhere if possible ...
Installers are no longer allowed to be on your roof, they have to work off a ladder in order to service the dish, so if its accessible from a ladder your fine, but more often than not, they are not.

Sunday ticket and league pass included? Run it into the ground until ATT calls it quits.

Sunday ticket and not having to rely on my internet for TV are HUGE plus’s for me.

i HATE internet for TV. I can take my sat gear and propane generator and watch TV almost anywhere. Gun range, fishing, camping. Can't stream any of those places. Well, sometimes camping, if the site has wifi. JMO.

Not to be a hater, but I personally wouldn't go back to D* as long as its connected to at&t in any form. And I was 20 year customer, can't stand all the lies. Just my .02 !

I wouldn’t sign up right now.

Wait till this new company gets involved in running Directv, which you will likely see some more aggressive promotions to sign up new customers.

It’s unlikely Directv will go belly up in 2 years as they are still profitable, even at the rate they are bleeding customers.
