Thread Options Greyed-Out

I know that I haven't been hanging-out here recently, but what happened to all the thread options. I cannot bold, underline, italicize, created bulleted text, add emoji, etc. - these options are all greyed-out and I cannot figure-out how to turn them on. The only thing I can do is attach a file (see attached image). Help!

I bet you're in BBCode mode. Click on the square brackets to the left of the preview button and the icons should become active.

Not sure how it got changed, but that did the trick! But I go to the next thread/post and it seems to go back into BBCode mode. Strange. I actually had to save an edited post before it permanently saved the change. Much thanks!
