HBO is BACK on DISH

Will this new HBO channel on DISH have all of HBO programming or should we keep the Amazon Prime subscription? What do you mean "will not be available to order?" Will we have to subscribe to a DISH premium HBO package?
What do you mean by "all of HBO programming"? Do you mean all of the various HBO linear channels: HBO, HBO 2, HBO Family, HBO Latino, HBO Signature, HBO Comedy, and HBO Zone?

Or are you asking if DISH's on demand platform will contain all of the content available in the HBO hub inside their HBO Max app (which contains a lot of additional non-HBO content too)?

BTW, as for subscribing to HBO via Prime Video Channels, that option will be going away at some point this year when the existing distribution contract expires.

HBO is a subscription package. They are only showing shows on 102 to get people up to speed on new shows that have come to HBO since they have been off DISH.

I mean HBO programing like we had before. Thanks for the info. I am going to terminate the Prime HBO app.

I wonder if it's a different flag that has to be applied to accounts to obtain access to the channels, and perhaps that is why they said they wouldn't be "available to order" until tomorrow. Of course, that is assuming that HBO would automatically return to AEP package subscribers and not end up something that has to be subscribed to above and beyond AEP.

I dont know any more other then it won’t be available for ordering until tomorrow.

So perhaps we won’t see them until then. After all not everyone watches channel 102 and if the channels are hidden in the guide to non subscribers then no one is going to subscribe.

I don't know why I was hoping for it to fully return TODAY...I still have 10 days left on my current subscription to HBO Max... :D

This is perfect timing. My Max subscription ran out earlier this week and I have to make a decision prior to Real Time returning on Friday. Definitely will opt for a Dish subscription if, and I assume it will, include a login for Max.

I was on the $10 per month HBO special price “for life” when it was yanked from Dish. Never removed the subscription from my account so maybe it will automatically reappear at that same price. Not counting on that.

I think it's reasonable to assume those with the AEP package that once included HBO/Cinemax would automatically be restored.

From what I posted this afternoon before the uplink that this would probably be the case.

Dish and HBO want to make money selling these channels they are not just going to turn them on, hide them and say nothing.

I think in a few weeks we may get sick of hearing the letters HBO. :)
