Tegna Dispute - how much longer?!

I thought it was CBS that was lost????
The networks do not own all of the stations. Various broadcast companies own many stations and those stations are not all affiliated with a particular network.

I noticed a few days ago that you can’t make comments on the Facebook page for Tegna. Granted I haven’t been on their Facebook page prior to that but it seems on a lot of the comments made by Tegna themselves their are mostly anger emojis in the like bars on Tegna’s posts, but again I’m speculating.

Well today I cancelled my 2nd DISH account for my parents. Had that account for 17 years. I installed a Air tv Anywhere 4 tuner ota dvr and Sling tv in its place. Had to change out the sat dish for an ota antenna . The cancellation csr actually recalled talking to me last week when I cancelled my main account of 25 years. Soon I will cancel my 3rd DISH account once I get my Aunt up and running on her new Amazon firestick and my Sling tv account for her to watch. But that will have to wait till January for me to get up to Arkansas to do that .

I'm sure Dish thanks you for your continued patronage anyway ... ;)

Oh yes, He was very nice. Even waived the LNB fee ,even though I bought and installed it myself, as a courtesy . I told him I owned all my receivers on all 3 accounts and had installed all the sat dishes and receivers so I was not leasing anything from DISH. He insisted the lnb was leased but out of courtesy they wouldn't by asking for it back. I just said thanks and I would be calling back soon to cancel the last account .

Since Dish will continue getting your money through Sling, even if not as much, I imagine they're not terribly disappointed...

Did you find it difficult to hook up OTA antenna after cancelling Dish? My husband and I cannot find a signal...do they deactivate the box on the house where the coax comes in?

Would that “splitter” have been one Dish was providing and using with their receiver?

Might not be a splitter. Dish uses similar looking devices for other purposes.

Can you post a picture of it?

That is the assumption. I was hoping to not have to cable the antenna directly to the tv-that would involve digging for 50 ft. in December in Michigan...
You can reuse the cables that you were using for Dish, but you'll have to swap out any nodes or such for couplers or antenna splitters as needed, and of course you will need an OTA antenna at the other end of the cable.

We have the antenna, the cable, and couplers, but were unable to scan for channels, so I wondered if our pausing the service caused them to block any signal. I really appreciate info!
