I have been watching movies from Amazon for a week and now an error notice pops up telling me to change my HDMI cable. Yesterday morning it worked OK and yesterday evening it would not. The audio works, but it is connected via a toslink connection. Any suggestions?

Reseat the cable on both ends. If that doesn't work, replace the cable with a certified one as stated above.

What device are you using?

If you are using a optical cable, it would have to be very old.

I am using the H3 and a new Samsung soundbar.
If a new Soundbar, why not HDMI?

You can go Hopper to Soundbar to TV via HDMI or

Go Hopper to TV then TV out ( ARC) to Soundbar.

You will not have to use the optical cable at all.

This worked. Also my audio may be coming from the HDMI connection to the sound bar. I have an optical cable run also to my soundbar from the H3 to a optical switch where a bluetooth piece of equipment sends the audio to my hearing aids. I can't remember exactly which one I get the audio from. But everything is working now.

Thanks everyone. My wife has been still watching Christmas movies that are on Prime.
