Hopper Daily Reset

Right. All that relevant information USED be available to veiw on older STB's. I often checked to see when the last reboot was if I was watching TV so long that it could not reboot as scheduled--which brings up how the H3, if it has not rebooted lately, will tell you it is gonna SHUT DOWN your LIVE TV watching whether you like it or not--TOUGH DARTS! Then it goes on to reboot during that whatever you were watching--and sometimes I AM IN THE KITCHEN GETTING A SNACK to continue TV watching only to see the H3 had DUMPED out of the buffer and is performing that GREATLY IMPORTANT reboot it could have done hours later in the middle of the night!

Yeah, it seems with each new step up in tech, we are deprived of options (like renaming a recording) or important to us information.

Is there anyway to tell if the Hopper has done its daily reset?
Yup, if you have an EHD attached, any receiver that you turn on will be on a screen that says "You have attached a device to xxx". It's there until anyone pushes any button.

That's how I can tell if my Hopper has done it's nightly reset or not and if the wife overrode it while she was watching late night TV.

I have 2 external hard drives on my Family Room Hopper3 and 1 external drive on my Living Room Hopper3. The only time I get the message “You have attached a device to xxx” is when I physically unplug and then replug an external hard drive into my Hopper3 receivers. I only have to do that when a Hopper3 stops recognizing a hard drive and that rarely happens. My Living Room Hopper3 reboots at 3 AM every night and my Family Room Hopper3 reboots at 4 AM every night.

I do not understand your post. What does the EHD have to do if my Hopper has done the daily reset?

I never see that unless I have unplugged it and replugged it.
