FWIW - Update to Joey 4s Promised This Week

Was promised by tech support that the fix for the J4 (following the "P507" software) is on the launchpad for this week. For what that's worth. Supposedly will fix the back screen of death that many of us have been frustrated by. I'm hoping the H+ will get a much-needed tweak as well.

I know these tech calls can be taken with a grain of salt, but the Dish support person was pretty adamant.

My Hopper 3 and Hopper Plus both show they updated to software version P110 today. Not sure about the J4s as I have not checked them yet.

Where is the Upgrade Software tool in the J4s? I don't see it in the Diagnostics menu.

There isn't one. J4's are updated over the internet not satellite.

So on my Joey 4.0s I go settings (gear upper right) to Preferences to About and then Update. I get to check for updates? Mine is P507.QTG1.220425.001

Do you mean 510? Dish typically goes up in numbering a software update number and can skip a few.

"O" He is going into the Hopper 3 receiver diagnostics page. Mine is H328 and P107 no P110 yet

I see what you are looking at the P107 is NOT the Joey 4.0 it's the Plus box

Joey 4.0s went to 510 while the Hopper + went up to 110.

I was told that this should fix the Joeys going to black screen but that's all I know of (or had asked about).

WOW that's good news. I wish there was a way to upgrade software in the J4s.to the newest version.

Again that's only the base software not the actual android software which is probably what's being updated.

The only way to update the Joeys is to put them in standby mode.
I always wonder why people are so quick to update when the older software still works.
