Hopper plus

After reading of other Firestick problems, I left it unused. Saw a $25 UHD Firestick and then decided to go with the WiFi 6 version for $50+ but again, reviews were bad. Bought nothing.

Need to decide on a WiFi 6 mesh for the house. Every time I start to pick one, something comes up and I put it off again. But any future wireless STB will be 6 compatible for future proofing.

Kinda moot, if we drop Apple TV because my Sony works with just about everything else.
My buddy has the newest Firestick and loves it. No issues. Google's new WiFi 6 Routers are out and affordable. Same guy installed 2 at a customer's house and said the performance and range were stellar!
2 Pack for $300 on Amazon. I'd be needing 3 at my house ($400)

Got my hopper plus on Friday. Several issues:

1. Apps will start but then shut down and return to Home screen.
2. Hulu in particular won't start at all.

Restarting the plus helps with these issues for a short bit, but then they return.

I got this as I like the idea of having my streaming apps in one "interface" without having to switch inputs and devices. I've read where people say that things begin to "straighten out" after a short time. Has anyone else experienced the apps shutting down and the Hulu issue?

Any suggestions?

Hulu issues have been around since the beginning, but the update shows that it will be addressed. We only watched one show on Hulu (The Patient) and had to do the doesy-do back and forth with the remote to play the show. But since we use Hulu so rarely, it really hasn't been a factor for us. All other apps are working well on our unit.

I swear by my Orbi RBK50 because both router and satellite have Ethernet ports which can be used for
  1. Wired backhaul
  2. Equipment w/o wireless capability
I have the router in my basement, and the satellite in one of the upstairs bedrooms. Works great for the whole house.

Same Orbi system in my home for a couple of years now. It has been awesome. Can't believe the prices of the new Orbi mesh setups!

We're going to be selling the Google WiFi 6 routers soon. My manager installed 2 on one job and said the range and performance were unreal

These are just Google but nest is about to be a thing of the past as Google is migrating everything into the Google hierarchy and the Google Home app.

I’ll have to look because I have not seen those reports. It’s Ring that I see which breached with regularity
