A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...When was the last time VIP family receivers received a software update?

Can someone send me a list of software versions for vip receivers?

Of course not, unless there's a critical need. They're being phased out.Sure has been a long time those receivers got a software update lol. Are these receivers going to get anymore software updates?

You would think so, they're still compatible with existing satellites. And good for tailgating. Are the 211s going to stay around little while longer while other vip receivers go?

As are their updated replacements, the Wally. You would think so, they're still compatible with existing satellites. And good for tailgating.
You can make VIP receivers (at least one) work Hybrid LNBs with a DPH42 switch in between. Can a customer have one VIP211 and one Wally on Hopper account for tailgating/camp purposes?
I don't think VIP receivers are compatible with Hybrid LNBs lol, however, someone said they will work with Hybrid systems lol.

Good catch, you having been reading my other posts.I think you have to have DPP LNBs with DPH42 to work with VIP receivers. Are DPH LNBs compatible with DPH42 switch?

Good catch, you having been reading my other posts.
You are correct that my current configuration is a DPP LBA to a DPH42 switch to a VIP receiver (via the same port as the power inserter). This is (albeit unusual) a Dish sanctioned configuration.
However, I have been told that using a DPH LBA to the first two ports of the DPH42 switch, with the same backend configuration, should work just fine; albeit not a Dish sanctioned set up, so YMMV..
I'm going to find out soon. My current DPP LBA is getting flaky (15+ years old) and I'm going to try replacing it with a DPH LBA (a three horn one with the 129 horn just ignored).
If I guess wrong and it doesn't work, I'm only the price of a DPH LNB. I would then have to get an old DPP LBA; if I could find one. I promised to post back my results when I do this.
I seriously doubt any installer, at least professional installers, are looking for 129 any more. You definitely don't have worry about finding 129 anymore because 129 is no longer in business lol. There are probably some installers are putting stress on themselves trying to find 129 lol.

I doubt it. I see that Solid Signal still sells them. But they are probably refurbs or old overstock. Amazon reports to have them too, but they are ridiculously expensive ($120 vs Solid Signal's $45).Are Dish Pro Plus LNBs still being manufactured these days?

Why do you keep asking the same questions over and over? Will Dish Pro Hybrid LNBs work with ViP receivers? Someone said they will work even though VIP receivers are not made for DPH LNBs.
