Disney just reported a massive increase in profits for their streaming division-

Disney+ and Hulu posted a combined operating profit of $336 million, up 615% from a profit of $47 million a year ago. Together, the streaming services added 2.5 million subscribers for a total of 180.7 million.

Disney+ added 1.4 million during the quarter for a total of 126 million

Hulu added 1.1 million during the quarter for a total of 50.3 million.

But, Broadcast/Cable channels revenue fell 13% to $2.42 billion

Confused; in this thread you say Hulu gained 1.1 million but in your other thread it says they lost 200,000?
There are two Hulu.

Regular Hulu, the On Demand Version, gained the 1.1 Million.

Hulu Live is the Live TV Service, which lost 200,000, will soon be split off and combined with Fubo.

Is there Hulu only programming? I don't care about Disney nor live tv.
Of course, but if you bundle them together, only a $1 more than just Hulu.

Disney+ has all the National Geographic programming, just that makes it worth the $1 more in my opinion.

I have been searching, but not finding what channels/networks are included with Hulu basic.
ABC, Fox Broadcast Channels.

Then all the content from FX, but in 4K, a bunch of other cable channels also, but the problem is, they no longer produce new scripted content, which is also a issue with Live TV Providers.

But Hulu does have original content, a lot of it, Paradise is the newest show receiving great reviews, Handmaid's Tale, etc, etc.

Thanks for the info. My wife and I are hooked on Paradise. I already have Paramount so I have CBS. What is the yearly cost (discount?) for the basic plan? I can find the monthly cost, but not the yearly discounted cost. I have seen several websites showing the basic plan being $7.99/month, but Hulu only shows $9.99.

Funny, I remember no so long ago some were insisting these services would never be profitable (while Netflix already was). Then again they were also insisting NFL ST would never be offered standalone either - even after it was offered standalone :oldlaugh

I wonder who posted the opposite, right around this time period, that they would become profitable, now who was that……..?
