As some of you may recall I promised to mention it here if I tried again to upgradetoa Joey 4 w/o an installer/ sales ca;;. Well I tried again and I was turned down.
Assuming you were trying to upgrade to a leased Joey 4? If you had a purchased one, I doubt the CSRs would care and would simply activate it.As some of you may recall I promised to mention it here if I tried again to upgradetoa Joey 4 w/o an installer/ sales ca;;. Well I don't have a purchased one.Assuming you were trying to upgrade to a leased Joey 4? If you had a purchased one, I doubt the CSRs would care and would simply activate it.
And the odds are that Dish will not lease you a Joey 4 without a Hopper+. If you purchase a Joey 4 they will undoubtedly activate it for you without the Hopper+. The other thing you could do is order the Joey 4 and Hopper+ from Dish and then refuse the plus when the installer goes to install it. Or, let him install it and then disconnect it after he is gone. The Joey 4 will work just fine without the plus. If you choose to do that there is a procedure to follow to get the Hopper to initiate itself as a plain Hopper 3.Well I don't have a purchased one.
Maybe I was not clear about what I wá trying to but since the point was to avoid the install which they admit is more of a sales call than a necessary install I do not think I will do that. And the odds are that Dish will not lease you a Joey 4 without a Hopper+. I don't know what you mean by sales call other than being offered the stuff we carry - which you can actually say no to but you aren't going to win this. The ONLY way you'll get to where you need to be is as Bobby described aboveMaybe I was not clear about what I wá trying to but since the point was to avoid the install which they admit is more of a sales call than a necessary install I do not think I will do that.
Also note that in both of the phone conversations I had with CSRs they were willing to send the requested item but only with a service/ sales call
I am glad that worked out so well. I have heard some stories like yours and others where they were told they needed an installer to come out and make recommendations.I called in two weeks ago as my commitment was up and and got my discount extended, I also requested 2 Joey 4's (moca) as replacements for my old long in the tooth original Joeys. They shipped the new Joey 4's with no truck roll, and no additional fees.
